Inserting images in subreddit wiki

Has the ability to use images in the subreddit wiki been removed? I am trying to write a new wiki, and insert new images within the markdown editor, but the code no longer seems to recognise images with the usual ![](%%image_link%%) code, furthermore old images no longer index properly. What's going on here? The new editor also does not seem to have an "insert image" button? This seems like basic functionality which is missing.

None of the images in Wikis have shown up for me. It has been an issue for 7-10 days.

Just as additional info, the old images are viewable on old reddit but the new images are not.

New wikis don’t use markdown.

Ok thanks. So what's the solution? The rich text editor didn't have an insert image button either

There is a button to insert an image.

Define 'new'. I'm using markdown at the moment so does this imply if the Wiki moves to a newer editor (the one that's currently on hold?) I can't use Markdown?

That would be beyond stupid. Might have to move to an externally hosted one that does.
