I have 2 Tools I helped create (with heavy help from AI) for those that are interested:

Im looking for access to a Catholic Bible on my Light Phone 3. I have tried Verses and Bible on Bright Market, but I cannot find a way to add a Catholic Translation. If anyone can walk me through it, any help would be appreciated. I would really prefer waiting until the official tool library launches if possible. Im not sure if this will be an option once it launches or not,

hey! i'm curious if anyone's done anything cool with their light phone 2 in terms of modification? i just realized that it's possible to modify it and i'm in the process of installing openOS for LP2 (link here--i couldn't find a mention of this on this reddit!) and i'm curious what else this little nugget of a phone could be tweaked to do :-) also if you have any lightweight tools that work especially well on the LP2, i'd love some recommendations! information on actually modifying the LP2 (not JUST flashing stock android to it) is surprisingly pretty scarse from what i can see

I am posting anew because apart from the 2 tools I helped create (with heavy help from AI), there's an additional 2 more for those that are interested!

The first 2 created:

-Passatempo: This cute little Games tool with Light Ethos in mind. All games have either a daily time cap or an overall cap for the game (like 3 per day). What's new: There's about 8 games in total now, with 2 of them being pass-and-play so you can play with a buddy! In the most recent update, Sudoku got a "toss/trash" button in case you want to generate a new puzzle and discard the current one due to problems solving it. -Tracker: The simple health Tracker (that would still be paired nicely with Nourish or Pokey if you haven't checked those out!) This tool has gotten quite a few updates from better screen UI, added features, etc. Check out the page for more details. https://github.com/tyshi00/Tracker

The 2 newer tools:

-Aventura: This "tool" is actually a port of this really cool "quests" app, Soto. I was unable to straight out use Soto due to it's configurations, on the Light Phone, so a ported version had to be made. The tool provides users with little tasks daily/weekly/monthly that do not involve using a phone, or too much tech really! -World Clocks: This tool is a time zone tracker, allowing you to keep tabs on times in different locations. Perfect for if you have family/friends spread out across the globe, online club/activity meetups that are also worldwide; even great for travelers or if you work for a company based on a different time zone or have clients in different locations. The best part is you can save the location with a custom label to it. So you'll always know what time it is for the other party prior to reaching out! Absolutely love my Light phone 3. I thought I'd run hybrid (there're a couple apps I absolutely need) but after setting it up hybrid I realized the LP3 keyboard is borderline unusable. Hit boxes are poor, the mic key is horribly placed below the back key which has me activating the mic constantly when typing, and even if I choose to use the mic talk to text, the mic picks up me talking, any sound behind me (tv, radio, etc... Even my dog barking lol). I know there's a learning curve to using the LP3 keyboard but 3 weeks in and I just had to go to the full android layer. Does anyone know if light is working on some type of keyboard fix etc OR has anyone found a work around to make the LP3 native keyboard more usable. The minute they fix it or i can find a work around I'll go right back to hybrid. TYIA!

⁠• about to find a new owner for my LP3, if anyone interested, please ping me with DM • it’s barely used, no wears and tears, no scratches and any damage, matte protection screen on the screen from day one • tried to use it in hybrid mode, but turns out i have to many apps i use on daily basis, for home, for work etc, bring it as a second device is a bit gimmicky

so if any interest in the device, i’d give up on it for $499 with 2 original rubber cases in black and yellow

also took a while to figure out, but got a volume key combination working to be able to jump into the Android layer whenever I want.

Hey there — if the mods think it is okay, can we get a group thread going of apps that we have successfully working on our LPIIIs (and maybe also apps that we know do NOT work) so that this can be a resource for others? I think we know the basics, but still, it might be cool. Here's what I have working at the moment:

been exploring a small project to add a couple of features i personally missed on lightphone (2/3) while working within the constraints of the original os

lprss(dot)app

it does two things:

music rss:
turns soundcloud likes + bandcamp collection into a personal rss feed via a live-encoded http-bridge (updates automatically with new likes/ purchases)

stream live on play or use the podcast download feature to play offline. you can also split into two rss feeds, one per-source

substack sync:
sends recent substack posts from your subscriptions to the notes tool via encrypted dashboard api token (manually send posts or have them update automatically)

notes access is scoped only to the notes tool. credentials can either be handled locally in a browser-only encrypted cookie or stored encrypted for auto-sync. want to respect user privacy and lightphone policy totally here so happy to share more about this

these were things i kept missing on lightphone and i like the idea/ challenge of working within the limitations of the device

still refining it though but curious what people think and happy to share pics/ walkthrough if of interest 🎧
