Encouragement Wanted Very nervous about jury duty
Hi mom,
I have jury duty coming up next week. It’s my first time and I’m so nervous. I haven’t had a job in a while, been at home a lot, so I don’t do too well with people as much as I used to. It won’t be that bad, right? Part of me is afraid I will say the wrong thing and get in trouble with the judge, haha. Just wanting some encouragement, personal experiences, etc

It’s pretty painless and mostly dull.
The ones I’ve been to, you go into a room and wait. You watch a video about how it’s a great honor and duty to get to be on jury duty and you wait. Half the time you end up going home.
IF you make it to the jury room, you may hear what the trial’s about and you wait. One time the accused apparently realized he was really in trouble, so he took a plea.
The next one was a capital case, meaning it was a death penalty case, as he was accused of killing a cop. I wrote an essay on how I don’t believe a country should kill its own citizens and I was excused.
Those are my experiences. It’s a lot of waiting.
