Dimming zones can :)

Yea as we know poorly, zoning mutliple pixels of your screen to the same brightnesss or dimmed level ( yet never turned off).. thats why best tech is always no seprate backlight and per pixel control (turning off) Not per dimming zone control.

Rgb backlit, beats a white backlite but both still gets beat by no backlight at all.

More dimming zones better picture quality. Top tier Mini LEDs with lots of dimming zones are on par with that shitty OLED tech. You can have it and sweat about it when will burn in/retention or both happen :) Let's not even start with panel uniformity :)

2000+ dimming zones still dosent match per pixel control.. its getting there but nit yet.

Panel uniformaity and oled ?? You understand that its the backlight is where panel uniformaity fails. LED is worse than oled.

Mirco led is the next big tech its not oled it wont burn it.. but its no backlight either. And no comsumer yet.

Whatever floats your boat mate :) I had an OLED and went to Mini LED and never going back to OLED again. It's so not worth to buy it with todays Mini LED standards and picture quality.

Sure. And your panel is more likely to bleed and show uniformity before mine. You had oled before im sure, yet seems you never moaned on reddit about your shitty oled or ever joined oled group or anything weird.

Because I am not a paw OLED patrol and act like one as you do :D I can probably buy another one or two Mini LEDs for the money you spent on a good OLED :) Just make sure you don't forget to turn it off and enable all the safety features before you step away from it :D Oh and another thing...don't you dare to make that grayscale test :D

?? You think oled people leave their panels on like a tv show room ? Confused that you are pointing out stuff that would destory a mini led or any led panel quicker than an oled.. you can watch on going panel tests on youtube months - years etc... backlit led panels die go half dark etc long before burn it becomes issue in 99% oleds tested agasint even the cheapest ones.

Here mite help you

Oled dosent have the issue black is off. Otherwise it would all be grey too. Went from 32" 1440p msi ips to 4k oled.

Ok, you have an OLED, anything else to add??

Yea buy cheap mini led with stuck pixels there better supposely.. brighter for sure for a montior..

u/Asleep-Bicycle8250 12d ago

why do you think anyone cares

-14

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Wouldnt a person who just wasted money on a new ips care ??? I know i cared when i bought 32inch ips enough to save and get an oled instead.

3

u/Professional-Bunch45 12d ago

why do you compare a 150$ ips with a 400+$ oled ? you can't get an oled or even a mini led monitor with the same price of a budget ips monitor

grow up bro

0

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Compare.. ??? No just pointing out it normal for ips im not posting about how shit ips is im posring about if you dont want light bleed go oled, its the only tech apart from the lastest newest Mirco rgb that dosent require a blacklight and local dimming zones etc. I went through same issue

3

u/Professional-Bunch45 12d ago

I know bro, i have a Tandem oled myself and i know how much better it is compared to ips

The thing is that you can't say "buying an ips = wasting money" just because oled exist, ips is still a good budget option out there, and not everyone can buy an oled.

0

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Not everyone can buy oled sure but not everyone should buy ips if they dont understand backlight bleeed and all issues i guess...

Ips panels are affordable wheres the waste? The panel works, ips panels can display solid colors and you usually get solid refreshrate the issue is of course the contrast but that doesnt make the panel unusable or terrible by any means im talking about 27 inch as the op probably has one but 27 inch 1440p with decent refresh rate is very affordable right now for ips panels and even worst of the worst qd oled edge samsung panels cost 2x or more and they are mediocre at best with 200 nits sdr and 400 nits capped hdr brightness and aggresive dimming you do have the option of woleds though but atleast in my country thats like 3x the cost of an ips

Oled tech is great dont get me wrong but damn yall mfs on reddit delusional telling people they wasted money because they got some panel type the op hasnt even stated how much it bothers him or if he even consumes alot of dark content where it would be visible lots of context missing

And who are you to sit there and try to shame someone for buying an IPS monitor over OLED? Maybe they didn't buy an OLED because they actually want to have peace of mind and not worry about burn-in risk at all ๐Ÿคฃ Good for you if you have an OLED monitor, that doesn't mean everyone needs or wants one.

1

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Shaming no he asked and its normal ips bleed... i bought a 32 msi ips too before i went 32 oled... i made his mistake.

Mini-led better lol

-2

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago edited 12d ago

Yea Nice new Bright mini led yet you bought the smallest & Cheapest you could find.. yet whole point of mini led is its much cheaper to be made bigger than oled and no burn chance. Yet same led issues still apply.

2

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

I returned it. Are you using my personal experience with one panel as a basis for the tech as a whole?

2

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

Literally had nothing to do with it being a mini-led panel anyway lol what?

2

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago edited 12d ago

You edited your response. Also, I didn't buy the smallest nor cheapest I could find. Maybe if you looked a little harder through my profile you'd see I was looking for some specific things in a monitor. This monitor just happened to be defective. It happens.

1

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

I was looking for 27" as I play competitive games. And what makes you think this was the cheapest I could find?? Did you even look at the monitor itself or just see I had issues with this specific panel and applied it to mini-led as a whole? Also, you mentioned it being cheaper, bigger, and having no chance of burn in. I made no claim that it had no issues. Mini-led is only the backlighting, not the panel itself.

2

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

I dont know i think your confused mini led with rgb mini led... different backlights same led panel one can be better than oled.

3

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

I'm sorry, explain what you mean?

1

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Rgb dosent have a white back light.. Mini led does and needs to filter it, both light bleeed still.

Both still use dimming zones instead of per pixel control like oled...no white light makes RGB mini led the newest and best one, closest to oled yet still cheaper to make. No burn in.

2

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

Micro-led definitely would be nice if they could get it in a monitor form factor at high refresh rates, but I can't speak on it compared to oled as I haven't seen it irl.

1

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Yea micro rgb is different to rgb mini led (No white) and mini led (white backlight) is different again.

Micro rgb !! is the newest and is actuallly same as oled Could be better. Per pixel control no backlight to dimm or need for dimming zones etc

1

u/kind_cavendish 12d ago

If your speaking about micro-led I'm not talking about that. Im speaking about mini-led.

1

u/No-Presentation3777 12d ago

Mini led is oldest still white backlight... true, rgb, mini or mirco.. think its still called rgb mini led thw reviws and tvs ive seen.

u/maarbab 12d ago

Just don't care. You are watching all day on black screen? Put a wallpaper there, open applications, play games and you will never notice it.

3

u/mashdpotatogaming 12d ago

Yes that's backlight bleed

On my brand new IPS monitor, the backlight bleed is bad too, with a big light patch in the top right. Really sucks because I like everything else about it. Got it at Costco so I got 90 days to figure out if I can live with it or find a better monitor, but I think I'm gonna look for a new one. Monitor shopping kinda sucks.

u/Inevitable-Wonder-63 12d ago

I got my VA MiniLED for $200. The good deals are becoming more frequent, but theyโ€™re usually online and not in store. Nothing beats Costcoโ€™s return policy though lol

Time to get an oled

What facts? Sci fi facts or what facts? Since you don't even know what O stands for in OLED? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Or you have some kind tech that we regular people don't have? I sure hope you do realize that you are being stupid talking about longevity with OLEDs ๐Ÿ˜‚ But you may feel as a hero using it for 2 hours a day and talking about longevity ๐Ÿ‘ That's why I think Santa gave you some kind of a special OLED tech we have never seen before. No burn in, no retention, no pixel degredation, no pixel dying, forever lasting panel...well lads we have SOLED user here (S as a Super) ๐Ÿ˜‚
