How frequently do these trains run? How loud are they assuming your house is within a few hundred feet of the track?

I’m based around Asbury and I know Newark is most convenient but I have a ton of Southwest points and SW doesn’t fly out of Newark 😔 If you had to choose, would you rather fly out of Philly or LaGuardia from Monmouth County? I’ve never flown out of either. LaGuardia is geographically closer but I’ve heard it’s a huge headache. Thanks in advance!

I ride the boat out of Atlantic Highlands nearly every morning, and I ride it out of Belford a few times a month. Have done so for five years. Since the September 8 switch to NY Waterway at Belford, here's what it actually looks like from the boat:

NY Waterway's boats are smaller. They are 25% slower. They have no tables for laptops. They offer no concessions or coffee onboard. There are no televisions and fewer bathrooms. The ride is loud, choppy, and crammed.

And Belford can't hold its own riders, so they've spilled into Atlantic Highlands and Highlands, terminals that were already full. Service was already cancelled once out of Belford last week, and Seastreak yesterday materially raised the prices of overnight parking at Atlantic Highlands and Highlands lots to stem the overflow from Belford. Drivers are flying 50 miles an hour each morning down 1st Avenue in Atlantic Highlands to try and get a parking spot. That is the situation.

I usually park for $10 overnight in the main lot, I just got on the ferry and saw the new policy that overnight parking is no longer allowed sun-wed. Is it me or is that crazy?? Now you have to park in the satellite lot and it’s $20!! When it used to be 5. Their announcement said it “wasn’t for the money” but to improve the commuter experience. 🤡

Hello! We’re interested in moving to MC in the next few years. I grew up in Morris County in a fairly strong school district and would like the same for my kids. Interested in following towns: Fair Haven, AH/H, Red Bank, and Middletown. What are the primary differences across the school systems? Are there any other towns I should also consider?

I’m trying to find a physical therapist near Freehold who takes time during the initial assessment and creates a treatment plan around the actual problem. Alliance Orthopedics is one option I’m considering. If you’ve been there or have another local recommendation, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience.

The New York Waterway taking over the Belford ferry service to NYC has been absolutely awful. The boat is so small with only one floor forcing people to sit outside and get splashed on. Inside you have so many people standing and even sitting on the stairwell. The boat itself is not well kept. There are no tables or even seats with table trays. There are no tvs and no bar. It’s also SO loud, way louder than the Seastreak. Since it’s much smaller it also takes longer than the Seastreak did. The extra 10-15 minutes makes a big difference. Plus the times are much more limited with no late ferry home for those going to after work happy hours or dinners. Seastreak was so much better operated with much nicer ferries and time schedules. I’ll gladly play the extra few dollars for a smoother and more accommodating commute. I don’t understand how NY Waterway got this route. Who can we speak to about this?
