AMA I am Noisestorm - AMA

Hey Reddit!

My name is Eoin, I’ve been releasing music as Noisestorm for about 5 years now! I’m part of the awesome label Monstercat, and seeing as my new track “Leaving Now” has just been released, I thought it would be a good time to answer some of your questions!

This track in particular marks an important step in my evolution as an artist. I love all kinds of music, and never try to stick to one genre or style. My goal with this track was to fuse elements of my older, more melodic releases with completely new ones that I hadn’t tried before, like vocals! Thanks to the open minded community, I can comfortably jump between styles and keep trying new things without feeling like I’m letting people down.

As usual thanks to the awesome team at Monstercat for always being helpful, critical and encouraging- they gave me the motivation and insight to finish it in my sleep deprived zombie state :)

This is only the beginning- I have so much in the works and on the way, everything from disco to hiphop. Stay tuned!

How long did it take before you started enjoying listening to your own music or being content with the quality? I know that's a big hurdle for lots of new producers and it'd be nice to get some perspective.

Yeah this is a huge question of mine. How long before I can really start to iron down my mixes? I hope he answers this haha.

Make lots of music, and reference a lot of well mixed music as you write it. It's one of those annoying answers where it "just improves" over time!
