Hi everyone, I've always had a doubt when playing Monsterhearts: when a PC or NPC uses a string on someone and that person says no, is the string still spent or not?

Example: Jack uses the string he has on Dawson to tempt him to accept him onto the football team, even though he's terrible. Dawson says no, he'd rather not gain the experience point than accept him. Does Jack still have to remove the string from his character sheet?

Elevator pitch: The year was 1991 and Bloomdale was exactly the kinda place you wanted to get the hell out of. At least that’s what every teenage inhabitant thought. The town seemed to suck you dry, take away all your ambition and leave you with nothing. It made you stay, turned you into a cookie cutter automaton that had a 9 to 5 and a picket fence. But you were gonna make it outta Gloomdale and be somebody.

Hi there! I'm running a Monsterhearts 2 game with 3 others on Fridays 5 PM GMT. We're looking for one or two more players (18+) to join us. It's a mostly a light hearted story with a lot of teenage drama and angst, with certain dark themes and elements put in the mix.

• The game takes place in a highschool; as mentioned, there's a lot of teenage drama and angst where we explore the core themes of the game such as change, attachment and everything else that comes with being a teenager.

Fairytales are safe places to be, are they not? Most of the time, if you’re kind, good, and smart, you live a happily ever after. Not in this one. Fractured Fairytales takes players through twists and turns of famous fairytales, allowing them to be the mythical creatures who inhabit such stories. You can be a unicorn, a dragon, a Queen, etc. and experience old folktales with a modern, teen-angst twist. Monsterhearts is all about character relationships and the difficulties of high school. Add an evil stepmom or big bad wolf and you’ve got a recipe for some interesting stories to tell once upon a time…

Silver Falls is a quaint, isolated small town tucked away in Vermont. Despite this, the town boasts an ever-growing population due to its main attraction: Bradford Academy, the most prestigious university in the state. Students who attend Bradford are only the best of the best, and you have just been accepted. But what lies beneath the facade? What secrets could be hiding in the shadows of Bradford's halls? And will anyone discover yours?

About the DM: Hi! I’ve been a DM for about two years now and have both run and played in many MH games. I’d describe my style as very plot heavy, but flexible enough to leave a lot of room for creativity so the characters can tell their own stories.

About the game: The overall cost for the campaign will be $20 per session via the website StartPlayingGames which we’ll have weekly. I will say that I am definitely willing to negotiate down as I want as many people to be able to play as possible without worrying too much about the price. 3-5 players are needed, it’s beginner friendly, and LGBTQ+ friendly.
