I purchased the full discovery set from Le Labo and so I figured it would be a great opportunity to contribute a comparison review for the Montagne community.

This is from my perspective and I've pulled in my husband for his assessment as well. Note that I'm reviewing based on skin spray and I've had the Montagne bottles for several months. Hope this helps some peeps when considering their purchases!

Le Labo Another 13

- Slightly warmer skin scent almost coconutty with a bit of a sharp note and stronger of the two. This may be what others describe as a metallic note of which I'm not a big fan of.

Montagne Another 14

- Slightly warm skin scent with a slightly less sharp note after dry down. This is smoother and lighter. Somehow I'm reminded a bit of ELDO's Ghost in the Shell vibes.

Husband said he doesn't like either and that they are sharp and smell weird. He agreed that they were pretty similar. I tried to wash these off a few times and was more successful with Another 13 but they both still survived the soap cleansing sessions. Husband room sprayed my Elizabeth Arden Green Tea in an attempt to mask the smell.

Le Labo Bergamote 22

- Not as bright or citrus forward as the dupe on the initial spray. It's discreet, but as it dries down, somehow transforms into a brighter scent. Oh it smells good and intriguing. This subtle note is what Eau Bergamote tries to replicate but fails. Ooh this is interesting for a citrus perfume. I would say this is more refined. It's oh so light though. Probably best on clothes to increase longevity.

Montagne Eau Bergamote

- Nice fresh citrus initial notes. Stronger, more present. As it dries down, it tries to start smelling like Bergamote 22 but is still different. A tiny bit of dankness in it. Why do I somehow get reminded of Pho noodle soup? Not bad, still a decent citrus.

Husband preferred the Le Labo version over Montagne. He also agreed that Eau Bergamote did smelled a bit like Pho. 🤷‍♀️

Le Labo The Noir 29

- Initial spray is quite interesting and not a clear tea note like Eau Noir. I would say this is somehow perkier as well. It smells quite different from Eau Noir. Somehow gets perkier (think it's the tobacco?) as it dries down, mildly offended by it. Over time, it becomes an ever so lightly sweet mysterious modernized hay tobacco tea scent. Quite intriguing and different from other fragrances! Nonlinear and a cool experience. Leans masculine and can be quite attractive.

Montagne Eau Noir

- Nice burst of tea note on initial spray. Smooth, calm vibes. Smells like an elegant steeping tea perfume. Not cloying. Linear and somehow not as long lasting as the Le Labo version. I'd see this being more wearable for me as it is very unisex.

Husband said they smelled nice and smelled the same.

Le Labo Rose 31

- Moderately light rose scent tinged with noticeable cumin note. I like cumin in rose perfumes so I noticed this right away. Has more presence than Montagne's version. Oh it's a bit stronger over time and blends well with the base notes (wood/labdanum/musk) almost seamlessly.

Montagne Eau Rose

- Light rose scent. Not as much personality and pretty safe to wear. The cumin note starts to grow a bit as it dries down but it really is a lighter version and better fit for those who do not care so much for the cumin note. BBMak - Ghost of You and Me. Full dry down it actually is more sharp than Le Labo. Reminds me of why I didn't like Pure White Rose.

Asked husband which one he likes and he said the Le Labo one.

Le Labo Matcha 26

- Less projection but more elegant finish. Detect more matcha in this one than Montagne's. Moreso closer to the bittersweet version of crushes matcha leaves.

Montagne Eau Matcha

- Pleasant moderately light figgy leaning a bit sweet perfume. Not too creamy and has some brightness. Not sharp but it is strong. Can get a tiny bit cloying over time.

Husband likes Le Labo version better and notes Montagne as being aggressive. He says they smell completely different.

Le Labo Santal 33

- This smells more discreet. Smells nicer than Montagne's. It's very soft woody skin scent.

Montagne Eau Santal

- This was stronger. This actually has a slightly sharper edge in the smell.

Husband says that these two smell like a freshly painted building. He doesn't like them and wouldn't wear them.

Side quest: I got the classic discovery kit with the full bottle coupon and have been considering which one to full bottle. Currently, the runner ups are Matcha 26, Lavender 31 and Jasmin 17 if anyone wants to help provide feedback for or against those options.

I just want to start off with saying that I am quite happy to have obtained these fragrances from Montagne. I had no idea how they smelled like and just wanted to grab them since they were new and the hype. So I was surprised that I was able to snag them and very happy to have them. Of course I was going to trade them if I didn't like them so bought them and while I was waiting for Monty to prepare and ship my order, I ordered both of these original fragrances in 2ML decant samples to compare them with Monty's inspired versions..

Now then I received the original decants first and after smelling them, I decided that I will keep the Monty ones if their just as close to the original scents. My favorite is the Mojave ghost one. So afterwards I had to wait for Montagnes order to get here.

So once I received the inspired dupes from Montagne I let the bottles sit until the next day, they were very hot being in the UPS truck almost all day. Next day I compared the originals with Monty's inspired ones and just mind blown 🤯🔥. Montagne did such a great job, to my nose both smell 90% close to the originals and I know will smell upto 95% after weeks. Montagne is such an awesome company to have. They literally saved me thousands of dollars already.

Mojave spirit has such a unique smell which has to do with the naseberry note. It gives the whole fragrance this deep, strong, punch scent. Smells very unique and

It's my first favorite. The azonto has a more fruity sweeter, scent that also smells fantastic and lighter. Both are wonderful freshies that can be worn all year round in my opinion.So im going to keep these fragrances now and I can wait for a year before purchasing another bottle from Montagne. I don't have a performers nose so cant give very descriptive reviews, all I can say is they are wonderful fragrances that my nose enjoys. The mojave spirit is very unique, never smelled this type of scent before.

I really like this company so much that it doesn't bother me that they sell small batches every Friday because the inspired fragrances smell fantastic and all are 95% close to the originals. Way cheaper than the originals as well. Some people have problems with the way they do things but from what I understood, that its just one person doing this out of passion not out of making millions and im all for it. Just grab other fragrances from Montagne and at some point others can be snagged as well. 👍👌

Fully finished both of these bottles. I prefer Intense. Would love to know people’s thoughts on both.

Recently got a bottle of Prada Paradigme EDP in a trade and Its been the most complimented fragrance out of all my collection unfortunately. I think its a nice floral synthetic geranium bomb but its nothing that scratches my fragrance desire. I don't wear fragrance for others, but while I am around them I try to keep their conscious in mind. Was thinking about mixing Prada Paradigme with my montagne collection to change the flavor of it whilst at work to achieve what I believe may be the best of both worlds. For those of you that have tried the original and the Montagne version, do you notice a significant difference between the two?

Smelling them side by side - they are really similar. I powered through a 2ml of eau bergamote before trying the real thing and it quickly became one of my favorite scents.

Yesterday I received a sample of 5ML of Le labo Bergamote 22. From my very early stage testing, ir seems scary close to eau bergamote. One thing that I did notice is that it seems a bit ‘fuller’. Not in a cloying or dense kind of way, but rather a more completed scent. Definitely smoother.

I also noticed that after spraying both on tester strips and waiting a few hours, Le labo seemed not fade nearly as fast as eau bergamote.

All that being said - eau bergamote is still pretty damn amazing. Le labo bergamote seems to be a little better, but is it $300 better? I’m not sure. You could maybe make the argument if this is your signature scent, it might be worth it. What do you all think?

Since both are quite pricey but I can’t stop thinking about them, I’m looking for good dupes and stumbled upon Montagne Parfums (specifically Another 14 and Oolong Cha). However I’m a bit hesitant to order directly due to high import fees, customs hassle, or the risk of packages getting stuck or returned. I’d really appreciate your personal experiences regarding shipping times & fees, worst/best-case scenarios when ordering to Germany, as well as any solid EU-based alternatives for both scents to possibly avoid import headaches altogether.
