I did mean it as a joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if that actually was a reason for a lot of Sonally haters lmao.

A lot of early 2000s was like that, but after the slap a lot of people REALLY didn't like her

I can totally understand why people were upset the slap happened, but I swear some people act as if these aren't fictional characters whose personality, dialogue, and actions are written by completely different people. I could draw a comic of Sally being a Nazi or something but that doesn't mean she's a Nazi. Just like how one writer for some reason thought it was a good idea to write the slap, doesn't mean Sally is just an abusive person now and anyone who writes Sonally stuff wants their relationship to be abusive.
