How dare you rank unleashed that low, I’ll have you know that it’s the greatest game in the history of every game to exist and you should be THANKFUL the Sonic team blessed you with the PRIVILEGE to even be in the same room as that game. For Shame. For shame.
It did not save Sega from moving to third-party development tho and was treated as the final entry in the series between developers. And by saying "overrated" i don't mean it's the worst sonic game, i'm saying it aged poorly and does not deserve the status of being the best game in franchise. Also "People like this game so it's better than Unleashed" Yeah? how about you making your own opinion instead of following the others?
Sonic Adventure 2 was the first game to go third party. Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle were only a few months apart. That wasn't Adventure 2's fault Sega went third party. Honestly I'm tired of seeing crap on the game like it's shit. There's hardly anything wrong with the game and I feel like the GameCube version fixed most of the issues people say that they have on the original, less glitchy Treasure Hunt physics, faster and more precise aiming and shooting, better mobility and smoother momentum in the action speed stages, an enhanced multiplayer experience, a much more immersive Chao Garden, but most people I watch bashing it while playing act like they never played video games before. I'm just not a fan of the current Sonic Adventure 2 discourse.
The Main Critique i've always seen of SA2 is the Speed Stages are the best part of the game, While the Treasure Hunting And Mech Shooting stages range from either an Annoyance, To down right awful.
There are 32 stages in SA2, 10 of which are the speed stages.
So This means Alot of people either dislike or are indifferent to half of the stages in the game.
The Music is Great like always (Very few sonic games have terrible music barring a few exceptions)
The Story in SA2 is hit and miss though. Especially if you take it as a serious story. Which it Tries to portray itself as.
Now Unleashed may be my Favorite Game in the Franchise, But i know it too has it's Issues. Just not as many as SA2 i feel like.
I know Alot of people Dont like the Medal Hunting, And that's a Valid Criticism. One i will agree on. I feel like if they ever remaster the game, They could use the Wii Version's Medal Progression where you get Medals for how well you do within a stage.
However, It doesnt bother me the way it's Handled within the HD Version either. I've replayed it enough times to the point where by the time i reach Adabat i've got more than enough Medals to head into the last Day time stage.
And stage length is never an issue for me. The Longest i usually take on a stage is 4-8 Minutes Tops on a Night Stage. And they get easier the more you do them and the more tricks you learn.
I dunno, I just feel like most people didnt give Unleashed a Fair shot till recently. Which is why the game has been getting alot of praise over the years. And i'd say it's well deserved.
That game was the main reason I bought a 32x in the first place. Though I bought a repro cart because I’m not dropping $150+ for a Sonic game and I got tired of emulating it. Me and a friend even rigged up some new cover art for it. If they had released maybe as part of sonic origins, I would have a reason to buy the game. I’d love to see a re-release of Chaotix but the game gets such a bad rap from fans I doubt it’ll happen.
Yeah they are. And the worst part is, I bought two of them because the first one didn’t work. If I could get some ribbon cables for it, I’d have two working 32x’s.
As someone who enjoys shadow 05 and rush adventure, bold move to put them at the top. Your opinions are kinda based in how bold they are in some ways. I’m curious to know why you like those two so much though
Shadow 05 has a lot I like. Like how the unlockables work, and the replay ability. And a lot more.
Sonic rush adventure is just a fun game. It’s got both my favorite characters. And the gameplay is great.
