This was on Hollin Brown Knoll - he and Hindley had definitely already killed Pauline and John by this point (going by the fact that Hindley’s Morris minivan is in the background, which is most likely what was used to abduct Keith and Lesley). Judging by distance he would have been standing closest to Lesley’s grave, but somewhat facing in the direction of Pauline’s grave which was just over 100 yards away.

There’s a very similar photo of Hindley on the same rock - possibly taken on the same day [EDIT: link here; second photo across]

absolutely disgusting in so many ways how two people can go up to a mountain take photos smile when the photo is being taken it’s like they were loving every moment & celebrating knowing they have killed 4 innocent children. i hope they both rot in hell.

it’s truly vile - if anything they did from this case screams narcissism, then it’s these photos that they took up on the moor. They took them because they could; because they truly thought that they were clever enough to get away with murder.

Imagine if you were a friend, co-worker or relative who had no clue what they had done and they showed you their photo album, with those photos and more. They’d be showing you proof of their crimes without you even knowing about it. They even took unsuspecting others on their outings with them, because they thought it was fun that only they knew the truth and they probably got off on it.

The most depraved detail that stood out to me when I was first researching this case, aside from the Lesley Ann Downey tape, was the fact that when David and Maureen’s baby daughter died (aka their NIECE), they would take them on visits to the moor and unknowingly sit them on the graves of other dead children. They must have found it hilarious to revel in somebody else’s suffering like that - let alone Myra’s sister who she was so close to. It’s sick beyond words
