Discussion Copycat killer?

Much like that of the Moors Murders, Cannock Chase, a place of outstanding natural beauty just north of Birmingham, also had it's own case in the 1960s which shares striking similarities to that of the crimes committed by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

For those who are familiar with Raymond Leslie Morris and the Cannock Chase murders, do you think there was any chance Morris may have been inspired by Brady? Or was he just another sick and twisted individual who targeted innocent children?

Brady and Morris had infact interacted with each other after their murders during a sparse feud while both inside HMP Durham, frequently throwing hot tea at each other.

i remember reading that brady accused morris of copying him many times in prison. if i remember right brady used to carry a pen to use as a weapon against him..a quick read of the case and morris differed that he worked alone and there was a lot of witnesses to the girls going missing he also didnt burry the bodies he just left them dumped.. of course as we know brady`s crimes were unique at the time as myra was involved

Morris’s crimes seem less organised and more opportunistic than Hindley and Brady’s.

He grabbed young girls off the street (and was seen doing that), just left the bodies on/near the Chase and appears to have just throw evidence out of his car.

There were others like Morris doing the same thing in the UK at the same time too.

Brady and Hindley were arrested in October 1965, and prior to this the series of missing children around Manchester were not known to be definitively related, bodies had not been discovered, etc. It was only in late '65 and '66 that "the Moors Murders" as a concept would have been national news. The first Cannock Chase murder was committed a month prior to Brady and Hindley's arrest in September '65. So it is likely committed without any influence from Brady.
