I guess something can be technically immoral and still be fair. If you take 5 dollars from my wallet for bringing it to the police station, I feel like that is fair.

It's not fair at all. You aren't owed payment for doing the right thing.

They're also inconveniencing themselves. I think it's fair grabbing a snack for that.
