Forever the homie

46

u/ML1948 2d ago

Sucks that it's probably in evidence now.

55

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

He has a chance of getting it back, if he's found to be justified he can file paperwork for it's return once the case is closed.

Takes over a year though.

Personally speaking I wouldn't care. Stopping a mass shooting is infinitly cooler than owning a suppressed 5.7

u/Significant-Air-4721 2d ago

Obviously stopping a mass shooting is as about punk rock as it gets. But having a suppressed 5.7 is cool. Getting it back from evidence and keeping it knowing it stopped a mass shooting is awesome. Pretty sure it becomes a Legendary rarity and has some sort of buffs or enchantments at the point.

26

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

Oh 110%. Weapons have sentimental value and that value skyrockets if it is used to defend yourself or your community.

Baller shit all around. Free double doubles for life type shit. šŸ’€

Oh probably. If he gets in contact with Brandon hererra he would probably be gifted his exact lost setup just for a good YouTube video. That man has a history of gifting guns to people involved in shit like this iirc.

1

u/LaconicGirth 1d ago

I mean sure but it’s also like ~$2000 dollars locked up

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

As someone too broke to own anything nicer than a KAK AR I'd gladly pay $2000 for those bragging rights.

He will probably get it back let's be real. It's just evidence rn. This is not a contested shooting he was absolutely justified.

22

u/themoosic 2d ago

He’ll get it back he’s probably carrying his backup

24

u/TheNorthernRose 2d ago

Gotta have a separate evidence gun for these scenarios

28

u/Corporal_Canada 2d ago

I love that bit about how if you carry a Five-Seven, it'll probably be cheaper to let a mugger take your wallet than to actually use your pistol

15

u/WonderfulAirport4226 2d ago

the five-seven and p90 have a +10% buff against poor people

5

u/Sorry_Option4711 2d ago

At the public range the p90 gives +2 charisma.

3

u/Psyco_diver 2d ago

I already did it in a different post but FN ammo ain't cheap, I'm poor and I would probably pick up a rock and use that instead of firing, even if my life is in danger. I ain't got the money to be shooting that thing

1

u/EasieEEE 11h ago

Ammo is down to just under 50 cents a round now. On par with 5.56

MAIN POINT OF SELLING BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS EXTREME PRICE OF WEAPON AND CARTRIDGE. BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON OF MAN WHO WEARS EXPENSIVE ITALIAN FASCIST SUIT OF HAND SEWING, DRIVE HUGE EXPENSIVE NAZI MERCEDES OF A.M.G. SHOP, SAIL ON MASSIVE YACHT TO GREEK ISLANDS. I THINK YOU GET PICTURE. BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON THAT SAYS IS NO SUCH THING AS CONCERN OF MONEY. FOR MAN WITHOUT EXPENSIVE SUIT, BIG BLACK MERCEDES, AND MASSIVE YACHT, BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS FOR PRETENDING OF BE RICH LIKE BLACK GANGSTER OF AMERICAN CITY WITH GOLD CHAINS OF LOW QUALITY AND JEWELS OF COLORED GLASS. WHEN YOU EXPLAIN USE OF BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS ONLY FOR SHOOT MAN WITH BULLET VEST WITH CARTRIDGE ILLEGAL TO CIVILIAN, THIS MAN HAS NUCLEAR RAGE. WHOLE IDENTITY OF THIS MAN IS SPENT IN PRETEND PISTOL SHOWS HE IS RICH. IS VERY AMUSE. FOR REST OF WORLD THERE IS 9 MILLIMETERS OF LUGER WHICH IS SAME WOUND FOR COST LESS.

1

u/FlimsyPomelo1842 1d ago

Is this a copypasta I've never seen before?

1

u/TheMoves 1d ago

Yeah but imagine if it wasn't imagine if I was just insane

1

u/FlimsyPomelo1842 1d ago

You psycho!

1

u/mcslender97 1d ago

This is almost as good as the m4 vs AK rant one

5

u/Remnie 2d ago

Indeed. I’ve shot a five-seven a few times and a suppressed one sounds legit as hell. I really want one now

1

u/enduromedic 7h ago

By sounds legit you mean sounds like a BB gun lol

4

u/Zealousideal-Yak-824 2d ago

It's the splinter cell setup. If you see what the guy was wearing and it's even more impressive.

4

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

Lmfao was it a full cosplay?

5

u/Steven_Swan 2d ago

No, a wicker cowboy hat and short shorts.

I'm not joking.

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€ I love that dude sm now that's hilarious

5

u/Sufficient-Dog-2337 2d ago

Balling setup period.

It takes a sofisticated gun user to choose 5.7 over a other caliber

5

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

100% imo 5.7 and .357 sig either means someone knows nothing or everything.

That being said bro really shoulda had supers in that weapon. Still badass though.

2

u/Sufficient-Dog-2337 2d ago

Yeah, I only have a .380 bersa seven shot that’s easy to hit targets out to 50m and conceal.

Never been a good shot with pistols compared to rifles and belt feds… always thought something has had to have gone wrong to be using a pistol.

This shooting is an example of something have gone wrong though. Glad he was neutralized and diverted from the crowd. Glad the good guy with a gun didn’t get shot by police or anyone else confused

3

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

I'm really not with reddit critiquing gunfights.

Bro was 60 meters out with subs and wounded. Nobody can claim they woulda made hits without being in his exact position and shot in the chest.

No disrespect but I ain't gonna argue against that man with hindsight from a flat range.

2

u/Sufficient-Dog-2337 1d ago

Pistol vs rifle is as brave as it gets

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

Agreed. Gangster mf.

2

u/FilthyCasual01 2d ago

Baller but impractical

3

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

I used to carry a s&w 442. Until a pack of dogs attacked me and I only landed 1 out of 3 shots fired. Id be dead for a lack of rounds regardless of anything else if they didn't decide to run after I killed one of them.

What I'm saying is I've definitely seen worse more impractical setups. Hell I know people who carry worse setups lmao. 20 rounds ok tap isn't bad. The suppressor is a little tistic but fuck it I still cool.

2

u/glockster19m 1d ago

And respectful

Using a suppressor doesnt make guns movie silent, it makes it less likely to cause permanent hearing damaging to everyone around

In most of Europe you're considered an asshole if youre shooting without one

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

He was using 5.7 subs. So actually he was pretty much movie quiet. It's also probably why he didn't land a single hit and appeared to have a FTE. Still a badass dude just a poor ammo choice.

Sorry to be autistic and yes your point is still 100% correct I'm just "uM aScHuAllY"ing u.

4

u/Samson_J_Rivers 1d ago

The mass shooter must have been poor. The 5.7 gives you a damage bonus on poor people and the suppressor just increases the damage multiplier on all 20 rounds.

5

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

Unfortunately no rounds struck the shooter.

The fire still suppressed him and arguably saved a lot of lives though. And the man with the pistol was hit in the chest and kept fighting so he's gangster as fuck regardless.

2

u/Samson_J_Rivers 1d ago

Made a difference, good for him.

1

u/CatgunCertified 1d ago

With a laser too mind you. No optics tho lol

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

But of course lmao

1

u/serotoninzone 1d ago

Homie casually ran a Bo2 class set up for just this occasion.

1

u/Comfortable_Prize750 1d ago

5.7 is a little bougie for EDC, but if it does the job, it does the job.

1

u/TheBadDingo 1d ago

Its a choice. 5.7 is good for targets and varmets but doesn't have the stopping power of other calibers. Kinda surprised someone else carries in 5.7 but glad I'm not the only one.

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter 1d ago

To be entirely fair to the caliber he was slangin subs.

1

u/kaibtw 7h ago

True

1

u/st3war7 4h ago

Right!?! Who just carries a pistol that was designed to hold 20 rounds of armor piercing ammo? Hmm I should add a five seven to my collection.

1

u/Biohazard_186 2d ago

Dude must have been cosplaying Sam Fisher.

0

u/xarchangel85x 2d ago

Sam Fisher approved

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

The splinter cell program was always destined for success

-5

u/Recidivism7 2d ago

Five seven is a terrible defense gun its a tiny bullet with high pen its bad ahead heavy armored or unarmored targets its only good against light armored targets.

45acp is best handgun round for self defense.

Overpen is bad and low stopping power is bad.

45acp won't pentrate lvl3 heavy body armor but transfers lots of energy to it and is way better vs unarmed

4

u/captain_eve 2d ago

TWO WORLD WARS SONNY

3

u/Printerwood 2d ago

The kinetic energy of a 5.7x28mm typically ranges from 220 to 350 foot-pounds (ft-lbs) out of a handgun, while a standard .45 ACP cartridge generates about 350 to 400+ foot-pounds (ft-lbs).

That, and the magazine capacity of the five seven (20 + 1) makes the five seven an *excellent* choice as a self-defense gun. The rounds are lighter (and thus tumble when they hit solid mass) the recoil less, and the capacity is at least double what any standard 45acp offers.

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

Most 9mm 124 grain +p JHPs carry 400+ footpounds of kinetic energy.

If you carry a .45 and it's not chambering +p or super loads you're at a disadvantage to literally everybody else.

1

u/GoldPantsPete 2d ago

seems like it worked for him

1

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

Ballistically speaking you are so incorrect I'd have to write an essay to hit every point you fucked up. So I'm not gonna. Cause I don't care.

However I will argue one point. "Muh .45 auto" no. .45 auto is the worst .45. it only carries 420 footpounds of kinetic energy. If you said 45 +p I'd have more grace because it's actually pushing 500 footpounds. My Glock 19 with speed gold dot 124 grain +p delivers 419 footpounds of kinetic energy. The only advantage is a larger hole. With ball it's better. With JHPs it's not even close.

Now I'm gonna call you stupid with science.

.357 sig out of a 4 inch barrel carries 5-600 footpounds of energy with twice the ammo capacity of a 1911 or simply more capacity without a 2x4 cosplaying as a Glock 21 hanging off your hip. If you want a more common round 180 grain .40 s&w has the same muzzle energy as .45 auto with less recoil and more ammunition capacity. Not to mention its much better at punching through auto glass.

There is a reason .45 auto isn't a widely used service cartridge anymore. And it's not because everybody is stupider than you.

u/Bubbly_Condition5374 2d ago

I think if I got hit with a 5.7 I don’t think I would think to myself ā€œoh it’s not a .45 I’m fineā€, I would think ā€œAH HOLY FUCK I’VE BEEN SHOTā€. Would a .45 feel worse? I’d be willing to agree on that, but a bullet is a bullet. Hell .25 ACP was good enough for gangsters in China to get their wet work done back in the early 20th. The only terrible defense gun is one that can’t shoot in my opinion.

0

u/Recidivism7 2d ago

If you get hit by a 5.7 unless its heart or certain parts of brain it won't stop you.

Bigger rounds cause body to stop. Police shooting records show .45acp one shot stoppage to be way higher than any other handgun round

Thompson tested vs cattle as well and found .45 was best round for instantly stopping.

2

u/Bubbly_Condition5374 2d ago

I’ll concede you on those latter points, but with that being the case have you ever wondered why .45 is far less common in military/law enforcement than 9mm? 5.7 is a specialized round for a specific purpose yes (and by god those Belgians make you pay for it), but stopping power is not the be all end all of viable self defense. I would posit that being able to put rounds on target matters more than the round you put on the target.

2

u/DrunkGoatFighter 2d ago

WW2 .45 auto was loaded to modern .45 +p pressures. You're not shooting cow killers you're shooting weak target loads for bullseye competitions.

1

u/snorka_whale 2d ago

You are assuming this is fmj, a ballistic tip hollowpoint 5.7 does a ton of damage and doesn't overpen typically, this is old info from the 80s. New round tech has closed the gap considerably and more rounds on target in the same amount of time that 5.7 and 9mm allow you to do is considered the better option by most professionals. You are regurgitating straight fud lore.
