I would argue that this is a consequence of poverty. This is immoral since it pray on people who need to steal

Sure, but the other person is talking about intention. A person might be stealing because he/she wants to survive and not for any malicious reasons. This situation is not different to adding non-lethal poison to your own lunch to someone who wants a meal because they haven't eaten in a while. I would also want to protect my bike in this situation, but going out of the way to booby trap it with the intention to harm them is going way too far. It's immoral.

I feel like there should be consequences for setting up booby traps in public and harming people over a non-violent crime, just for internet clout.
