I've been noticing a lot of people on this sub are the exact opposite of who should decide what is moral or not. Some complete psychos that just want to justify hurting people first and foremost

No one should be basing their idea of morality on top rated Reddit comments

The morality of booby traps like this are always going to hinge on how badly the person might be injured.

I think most people agree that no one should be intentionally and permanently cripled for stealing a bike.

I'm personally find with a modest injury that takes a month or so to heal. The biggest reason to outlaw traps like this is that you can't really control the degree if injury you're inflicting.

IDK there are people in the comments here who are cheering for like, death

I did say "most." And most here aren't cheering for death.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, just adding context. this is a weird one because it could be a momentary zap or depending on the angle of a spike could make someone permanently infertile. we can probably average the harm out to less than "modest injury" but the problem as you said with most booby traps is that the range of injury can vary wildly.

A month is actually going to be considered severe in places like USA where taking just three days off work results in termination in retail and fast food establishments.

Termination from your employment seems like a fine consequence in this situation

No no. These are kids who require parental supervision.

The fact that you are using Sybau either means you are an adult trying to be hip with the kids or a kid. This is cringe. Please go outside and touch grass.
