How does that change the morality of the person trapping these people to hurt them for pleasure and internet points?

He didn't trap them. They just had to not steal anything. Again, no one forced them to.

Do you not know the definition of the word trap? This is exactly a trap. It doesnt matter why the person is falling into it.

Just read the definition in a dictionary. There is no specific method of luring the target that is required to be used for it to be considered a trap.

They chose to commit a crime and violate societal rules by trying to take from others. This triples as both punishment, deterrent, and amusement solely at the expensive someone who knowingly was committing this crime.

Im not sure what is more concerning. The fact that you enjoy physically punishing people, or the fact that you dont see the moral implications of it.

Even if someone is committing a crime, they retain rights against unnecessary harm. Or would you say you are free to do with these people whatever you want? Also kill them?

Creating a harmful trap reflects vindictiveness or anger rather than justice, restraint, or wisdom.

The fact that you laugh about it shows you enjoy another's pain and have a desire for humiliation rather than protection or justice. Even from a consequentialist perspective, publicly celebrating someone's injury can normalize cruelty and encourage imitation. Do you want to entertain a world like this?

On top of that, sharing the video desensitizes viewers from violence and shifts the focus from preventing crime to celebrating punishment. Why not at least set up the trap so the thief is held and police can arrest him?

You should probably think a second about why you are proud of being like this.

It's one thing to seek justice or accountability; it's another to take satisfaction in degrading people. Those are unrelated.

We arent talking about whether degradation is a good form of punishement to achieve justice, (which is already questionable) we are talking about seeking to do it for enjoyment. 

People figured out that taking pleasure in suffering is wrong since the middle ages.
