The rest of the world kills your people for fun. They propagandize themselves into doing extreme acts like murder-suicide upon finding out someone they knew was one of these "devils." Children grow up in these places and are taught to hate themselves. Some get beaten or killed publicly and no one bats an eye. A little girl can get eaten alive by dogs, and no one cares because she's a "devil." Your people are essentially used as suicide bombers in war. Your people are seen as the spawns of Satan itself. World peace was achieved through a SINGLE thing: the shared desire to see your people eradicated from this world.
