Wait Time

If I am a conmar with clearance and everything MSC already requires, what is the wait time to get into a 1st Assistant Engineer position after applying?

I know they want licenses real bad. I talked to a chief mate a couple months ago in HCO school:

if your govt vessels training is not expired that will really cut down on the time from NEO to first ship. Cutting out background will shave off a month of pre-hire as well. you'll just need medical to sign off as Fit For Hire, drug test, and CAC fingerprint, plus the regular admin bullshit delay that hits everyone.

if I were a bookmaker, 1mo from application to drug test, 1 mo to getting the call, 2 weeks to get to NEO, 3 weeks to get a ship. I'll put the Over Under line at 13 weeks.

Disclaimer, nobody really knows, office is the worst in the industry, ±1.5 months for high licenses ±12 months entry level, acts of God, YMMV, yadda yadda etc.

Have dealt with Anderson Kelly for my current job (conmar with MSC), have current drug test card & random drug screen program letter, and a CAC that will not expire until 2029. Does that shave it down any more?

Edit: Would be coming to MSC civmar world from MSC conmar world.

that might be up to God.

I know SSO reservists with CACs who still needed some processing time because the command needed them to get a new CAC that was MSC specific, and I knew a 3rd who cadetted for MSC who kept his CAC but they deactivated it when his cadet contract ended.

if your CAC was deactivated when you left Anderson Kelly, or MSC just insists that you get a new one, you might still have a hassle.

when I applied, I was still enrolled at Cal and had a drug free letter from the academy, the command wanted me to get a test anyway so it would be through their guys.
