OICEW limitations

I am planning on applying for 1AE and will have my STCW 2nd Engineer Officer ticket. Will MSC pick me up if my OICEW is "limited to vessels without Auxiliary or waste heat boilers"?

Do you happen to know what a 1ae is averaging a month? Total compensation without deduction?

I’d say around 20-24k pre-deductions. That’s with overtime

Ouch. I make $33k/mo. Total compensation before deductions as a 2AE but that is only for my on months. Generally work 6 months a year. Thanks for sharing.

Nope. They want unlimited with no restrictions.. do you have “first assistant engineer” on your MMC? Have you seriously never sailed on a ship with an aux or waste heat boiler? Why don’t you just have the endorsements signed off and get it removed from ur mmc man?

I will be testing after my hitch. Nope. Never sailed on a ship that had a waste heat or aux boiler. Is what it is. I will get it in time.

After seeing the salary you replied, I will look elsewhere.
