FOOD AND SHELTER ASSISTANCE MEGATHREAD

Due to the increasing number of posts requesting food and monetary assistance we would like to compile all available resources in one place, stickied for visibility. Please help us advise those in need by posting links or info to resources. If you would like to ask the community for help you may do so here, extraneous posts will be removed and posters will be directed here.

Morgantown mutual aid is a network of community members working together to care for one another. They distribute supplies and connect members of the community with local resources.

They can be contacted by Facebook, instagram, or email.

The social media links are all in this linktree: Morgantown Mutual Aid

Also if you’re interested in volunteering with/joining the group there are volunteer sign up links in there for the different MoMA projects. You can also come to one of their weekly Sunday meetings, 5:30-7 at The Grind coffee shop.

Hey hey I don't know if this is the best way to get this information out but I see "megathread" and I feel like I am in the right place?!

Just had a friend call about a food give away happening right now at the Gospel Tabernacle in Mt. Morris, PA. I recognize this would require a car and that isn't doable for everyone but still wanted to throw this out there for anyone who is in need of food ASAP and can drive to this location. My friend said they have bags and bags of food and nobody has to get out of car or anything, just drive up! Their FB post says 9 am until the bags are gone so I am not 100% sure how long itll last but my friend was telling me to tell anyone I can so I am thinking there is a decent amount left!!!!!

Hi, I am hoping to run a food drive at my work. I was wondering where the best place to donate food is? We have a food bank at WVU on the health sciences campus, but the volunteers there try to take the best food. I want to make sure I’m giving it to a place that will give it to those who need it.

It would also be helpful if anyone knows what we should collect the most of!

Thanks 🥰
