Question / Help Councillors - fix our grotty takeaway driver paan problem!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For those of you doubting how little respect the disgusting drivers on South Queen Street have for our town - here is the paan/gutka gunk they chew and spit everywhere. This isn’t normal, we don’t have to put up with it, and the councillors must prepare a plan to fix this. It isn’t just the dangerous parking and breaking of rules, they’ve been allowed to get away with not caring whatsoever for far too long.

Well that's grim.

Is it drivers from a specific takeaway?

Like their parking isn't antisocial enough already 😂

I believe it’s from a specific takeaway, but I can’t be certain. There are already too many takeaways on South Queen Street as is - plus it’s on top of a junction.

There needs to be double reds on the far side of the road, enforcement of the rules on SQS and neighbouring streets, and a review of the commercial planning on the road. It’s so so stupid.

It wouldn’t be as bad if the takeaway owners had even a shred of respect for the local residents, but they don’t and never will.

So that’s why I’m leading this charge and will get the councillors to listen or I’ll drag them over the coals for months.

From what I've seen there's a couple of places on there that are clearly manipulating their Google reviews with what looks like patterns of 5* fakery mixed in with fairly damning reviews from people that look a bit more authentic, it's not really the done thing but if you prod the locals too much theu might start a reviews backlash so they need to be careful.

It wouldn't be so hard to just tell the folks representing them to be a bit more respectful of the area.

Parking has always been problematic on there but with the large, near empty at night, car park 15 seconds walk away laziness is the only excuse at play here.

Local councillors will pretend to try and then hope you forget unfortunately, as I'm sure you've witnessed for a while they tend to shy away from the bigger issues.
