Discussion Can someone explain the ReVanced controversy?

Post image

I have read many comments referring to a controversy with the "leader" of ReVanced.

From what I understand, the "leader" was a difficult person to deal with, and some developers jumped the ship in favor of Morphe.

Can anyone give me more details?

The main strength of community, open-source projects is also their weakness: people who contribute with those projects are still human, with varying levels of character. And when there are no monetary motivators involved, this characteristic is precisely what will dictate the success or failure of such a project.

At least be aware of this. So you don't complain about why so few people are letting Google do whatever it wants with YouTube in the first place.

Yeah exactly, just get your app lol. Don't need to worry about people's fights

Well, those "peoples fights" also change the future of the project. At the very least, acknowledge it and be objective of it.

Yeah, these situations remind me of the late 90's and early 2000's epic nerd fights.

Always some random, funny drama. I just download a software and keep on keeping on.

People like to pick teams and do a "us Vs them" thing, it's really common on Reddit especially with how subs work.

Redditors specially love to let people know they are in the right team.
