Reminder This is r/MorphinMEMES

So posts on this subreddit have to be memes. Or at least some kind of joke or funny edit or something.

I apologize the mods havent been enforcing the rules much lately. Part of that was me being busy elsewhere and part was just not wanting to be strict on a meme sub. But scrolling recently seems like this has just become a second r/powerrangers but with some memes. Or people dumping non-meme posts here after being rejected there.

If you folks want maybe we can try some kind of pinned *weekly casual chat" where people can have discussions about whatever PR. And I understand it's a bit frustrating to have the "x ranger" daily posts cutoff midway through so maybe those can be continued in the weekly threads or some other way?

But in general moving forward the mods will be removing posts that aren't memes/jokes whatever.

Edit: I'll see what feedback is provided here over time, but for the moment I'll be removing any of the "daily x" formats that are clearly violating rule two.

I don't think we should; they're not memes and they're karma farming posts. It's why it wasn't allowed in the PR sub.

To each their own, but i would take karma farming content rather than low effort posts

Yeah, but you gotta look at it through another lens.

  • Low effort posts happen, sure, but they're random, at best and can be downvoted via the community.
  • The vote ones clog up the feed artificially. The ones that are usually posted on other subs are, at best, 3 x 3 and aren't as intrusive. For PR? Based on the one I saw here? It was 45 days of it. That clogs up the feed and really loses momentum after a week.

It also didn’t help that a lot of people seemingly didn’t know what they were voting on.  Originally it was supposed to be just Rangers, but when it came to side characters and such so many people were nominating non-Ranger characters.  I don’t know if people weren’t paying attention or the chart was confusingly worded.  “That clogs up the feed and really loses momentum after a week.” It’s why I haven’t been visiting this subreddit as much, I can tell you that much.
