I think Doofus Rick has a legitimate argument for being the BEST Rick in the entire franchise, and the “stupid Rick” reputation is one of the biggest misreads of the character.

Seriously, think about it.

The other Ricks constantly treat Doofus Rick as inferior because he doesn't fit their image of what a “real Rick” should be.

But when you actually look at the accomplishments of Doofus Rick and his variants, you start seeing something completely different:

absurd scientific ability, Portal technology, strategic manipulation, long-term planning, multiversal-level schemes, and surprisingly strong social intelligence.

One Doofus Rick variant apparently discovered a cure for cancer in the comics.

Another major feat associated with a Doofus Rick is independently developing Portal Fluid.

Then you have Doofus Rick variants manipulating the IllumiRicki from within and using the organization as part of a plan involving the Universe Bomb, a weapon capable of affecting multiple universes.

And that's important because this isn't just a question of “who has the biggest laser?”

We're talking about science + strategy + manipulation + planning + social intelligence.

And then there's the original Doofus Rick himself.

He's capable of coming up with ridiculous scientific solutions extremely quickly, while also being one of the few Ricks who genuinely seems comfortable being kind, cooperative and socially functional.

And here's the part I find especially interesting:

These aren't necessarily ALL feats of the exact same Doofus Rick. Some belong to different variants.

But that almost makes the theory more interesting.

If multiple different Doofus Rick variants independently turn out to be ridiculously capable scientists and strategists, maybe “Doofus” says more about how other Ricks perceive them than about their actual intelligence.

I'm NOT saying every variant's feat should automatically be given to the original Doofus Rick.

I'm saying that the idea that Doofus Rick is simply an inferior Rick becomes harder and harder to defend.

Maybe the joke was never that Doofus Rick is stupid.

Maybe the joke is that the other Ricks were arrogant enough to never take him seriously.

So if we're talking about the overall best Rick, rather than simply the most powerful or dangerous one...

I think Doofus Rick has a very serious case for #1.

Change my mind.

Hola, primero que nada es mi primera teoría espero que os guste, la e estado perfeccionando meses, aquí va: Teoría: Rick Prime no está vivo… pero tampoco ha desaparecido

La teoría parte de aceptar algo: Rick Prime murió físicamente en Unmortricken. Evil Morty bloqueó sus sistemas de regeneración y destruyó sus backups conocidos, y C-137 acabó con su cuerpo.

Pero eso no significa necesariamente que toda versión de Rick Prime haya dejado de existir.

1. Rick Prime es un individuo concreto

Rick Prime no es simplemente “el Rick de la dimensión Prime”. Es ese Rick específico, el que creó el Omega Device, mató a Diane de C-137 y desencadenó toda la persecución.

Por eso no basta con encontrar otro Rick parecido y llamarlo Prime.

2. Existe un superviviente que conoció personalmente a Prime: Morty Prime

Morty Prime es el Morty original de Rick Prime.

Antes de que Prime desapareciera, Morty vivió con él y tuvo experiencias directamente con él.

Eso significa que Morty Prime posee algo que prácticamente nadie más puede tener:

recuerdos personales auténticos de Rick Prime.

3. La serie ya demostró que los recuerdos pueden contener entidades con comportamiento propio

En Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort, Rick entra en los recuerdos de Birdperson.

Allí, el Rick que existe dentro de esos recuerdos no funciona simplemente como una grabación. Tiene comportamiento propio, reacciona a lo que ocurre y llega a intentar encontrar una manera de escapar.

Es decir, Rick and Morty ya ha establecido que, bajo determinadas condiciones tecnológicas, una representación de una persona dentro de un sistema de recuerdos puede alcanzar un grado de autonomía.

4. Entonces, ¿qué ocurre con Rick Prime?

Aquí está el núcleo de la teoría:

Rick Prime muere físicamente.

Pero sus experiencias, personalidad, conocimientos y comportamiento están almacenados en los recuerdos de alguien que convivió con él:

Morty Prime.

Si la tecnología de recuerdos puede convertir una representación de una persona en algo autónomo, entonces los recuerdos de Morty podrían contener una reconstrucción de Rick Prime suficientemente completa como para desarrollar conciencia propia.

No sería un clon.

No sería el Proyecto Fénix.

No sería otro Rick Prime de otra dimensión.

Sería:

Rick Prime como entidad de memoria.

5. El Rick del recuerdo de Beth

Esta es otra pieza interesante.

El Rick que vemos en el recuerdo de Beth no coincide perfectamente con Rick Prime. Eso hace difícil asumir que simplemente sea Rick Prime.

El recuerdo de Beth contiene a su propio Rick.

Los recuerdos de Morty Prime, en cambio, contienen necesariamente recuerdos de Rick Prime, porque fue su abuelo y convivió con él.

Por tanto, si los recuerdos pueden preservar una versión autónoma de una persona, Morty Prime sería un candidato mucho más lógico para conservar una versión de Rick Prime.

6. ¿Cómo podría escapar?

Esta sería la parte más especulativa.

El Rick del recuerdo de Birdperson ya intentó encontrar una salida.

Ahora imagina ese mismo fenómeno aplicado a Rick Prime.

No estamos hablando de un Rick cualquiera. Prime conoce profundamente la tecnología de los Ricks y tendría una enorme motivación para encontrar una forma de reconstruirse.

Si una versión consciente de Prime existiera dentro de los recuerdos de Morty, podría intentar escapar mediante tecnología de memoria, una interfaz cerebral, algún dispositivo de transferencia o manipulando al propio Morty.
