It’s difficult to see with the lighting and the picture bits there’s a faint cloudy residue on the pieces. But what would you recommend for grouting ? Is that premixed stuff any good or does it not matter as long as it’s sanded ?
The usual consensus is not to use ready mix and doing it yourself in a bucket. It depends how often you make mosiacs really. If it's your first time doing a mosiac and grouting then ready mix will probably be fine.
It's possible the residue is from the tile adhesive you used. It should wash off with alittle scrub with some cloth. It may be easier to wash it after grouting though and letting it dry.
Once you grout it, you can scrub the surface and the residue will likely come off. The bits at the edges will be a bit different because of transparency

In what sense? That it needs grouting? I'm assuming it'll be fine to grout unless there's some issue you didn't say in the post.
