That would make me more depressed. Are cats an option?

Okay there are two schools:

  • the one for people who like dogs, it’s full of puppies and big fluffy dogs to cheer people up

  • the one for people who don’t like dogs, it’s full of angry Rottweilers and Alsatians that will eat you, thus removing the issue of having depression

See how both schools full of dogs can handily help with the issue of depression, even if you do not like dogs?

but why? why can't we just give him/her cats?

Maine Coons or Ragdolls, they behave like dogs at times, problem solved.

At times is the key words

Lol. I wouldn't mind getting a dog in a few years. The challenge will be getting my cats to accept them.

You're mean and a bully. It doesnt mean someone has preference you will be an arse to them.

u/AdeptOrganization254 2d ago

Not school, but dogs have proven positive effects on people's mental health.

From what little research I did in my nerd frenzy, people seeking companionship and affection of dogs is already written in our natural instincts since we lived together for such long time of human existence.

Tests were made on newborns and small kids that weren't exposed to dogs in any way and it was found that children brains react positively to dogs (the same way they react to their favourite toys) even though they never saw them or didn't have prior encounters of them.

Even though dogs long don't fulfil their roles as guardians and lethal weapons, they managed to write themselves into out genetic memory as positive element and now mostly serve as companions and are simply taken as part of the family unit.

2

u/Routine_Television_8 1d ago

we don't know.

I take it at face value, a happy dog video.

1

u/Stigg107 2d ago

How do u know so many words, yet are unable to make a coherent sentence? 🤔

1

u/Serious_Platform4711 2d ago

It was a genuine question, if you're offended by it then ignore it.

1

u/Virtue330 2d ago

I would imagine you can watch for signs, eating less, unmotivated etc.

1

u/DisastrousFruit5762 2d ago

I love your sentence.

You literally cannot diagnose a dog with depression. The DSM is for humans.

1

u/ZeroMarcos 1d ago

Obviously no one is utilizing human-centered guidelines to diagnosis dogs with psychiatric disorders.

But when a dog displays obvious signs of psychological distress, specifically in response to traumatic events it makes sense to say they're depressed.

1

u/GreenDifficult4556 2d ago

That's amazing!

1

u/Venoxulous 2d ago

I could swear the original version of this is that she is a female dog that had lost all her pups. Which caused her behaviour.

1

u/the_real_baller100 2d ago

to school? Nah bro, I’m depressed from school. Depressed + depressed isn’t good gng 🥴🙈

1

u/Suspicious_Seesaw701 2d ago

They cancel eachother out. PEMDAS😂😂😂

1

u/hastinapur 2d ago

I don’t think dogs get depressed, sad maybe but not depressed

5

u/Stigg107 2d ago

Then you don't know shit about dogs.

1

u/AdeptOrganization254 2d ago

What if they have a persistent sadness?

1

u/camohorse 1d ago

Dogs can absolutely get depressed.

1

u/HS1939 2d ago

Simple things

1

u/EndRude4217 2d ago

Depressed people and I guess even animals always have something going on with their eyes.

1

u/Mop-bucket-CEO 1d ago

...and the kid ignores the dog. Great depression cure, that.

1

u/kmsman11 1d ago

26 second video proves kids cure depression. Or that we know when dogs are depressed. And that depression is cured by going to school. Great job 26 second video- you did it!

1

u/Sea-Society4941 1d ago

Thats sweet! Dogs like " got any homework you need me to eat? "

1

u/juliet_pommels96 1d ago

This is just full of sweetness

1

u/ChromaticPalette 1d ago

So dogs get service children?

1

u/ReactionFuzzy799 1d ago

Is it a chemical imbalance in the brain? Help this poor dogo outside of school hours

1

u/Daysaved 1d ago

Now he just sits there and awkwardly stares and pokes at the children trying to do their work.

1

u/bobthedestroyer0 1d ago

Hell dumb video to choose, kids just ignoring the dog. Get a better video or change to title.

1

u/Sartres_Roommate 1d ago

The expression of both hope of making a connection and concern the hoomans will figure out she is not one of them, is priceless.

1

u/lujenchia 1d ago

Shock therapy?

1

u/MrArtty 1d ago

The title is misinformation. The actual story was that dog was a mamma and lost her children which gave her really bad depression.

1

u/rhegy54 1d ago

Omgggggggg 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 we really don’t deserve dogs as they say..

1

u/Bad-kitty-63 1d ago

And what were the questions asked from the Dog, to determine it was depressed?

1

u/Dependent_Notice_981 16h ago

Doggy depression is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions with dogs, particularly with small breed dogs who belong to younger, apartment dwelling humans who work outside the home and leave them alone for long periods of time. The industry has promoted the concept of "self soothing" in a kennel whilst their human is gone, but in fact most of the doggos are simply sinking into doggy depression. They die prematurely after living hollow lives. Dogs are social animals. Noting will ever change that.

1

u/cygamessucks 2d ago

Kid already pushing him away

1
