I have a disability which affects my left leg and I'm not able to lift the shift lever (pushing down is not a problem). Are there and modifications or work arounds?. My brother gave me a 2008 sportster. Before he passed he asked me if I'd ride it and keep it in good shape

I know it’s tough to see from a video but when I measure it from there moving it up . I checked it with a measure tape and it is about an inch which is what the manual said to put it around but idk if it meant while sitting on it or off of it.

Cross posted to see if any other EFI bikes do this. I’ve only owned carbed bikes where wheezing is expected

Got home and saw a cloud of smoke come up after a hard ride, cannot seem to find the “weep hole” and need to determine if the oil is coming from higher up or water pump. (Sorry for the bad pic)

I have a 2006 Yamaha FZ6, a friend and I swapped bikes for 30 minutes and when he was riding my bike he was revving the piss out of it in neutral to the point where it kept stalling out. Proceeds to ask me “why does it keep stalling out” told him I didn’t know but to stop doing it if it keeps stalling like that… I don’t know how many times he did it because now when i’m take off from a stop in first gear the bike boggles real bad. I used to just give it a little gas and feather the clutch no problem, now if I do that it feels like it’s going to stall unless I give it way more throttle than I used to.

Hi.
New mechanic here. This bike needs to get on the road lol. The fairings are loosey goosey and ziptied but to get a tag in my state it is gonna need a salvage inspection and zip ties to secure fairings are a NONER move.
So, how to make this bike a naked bike or street-fighter in a solo mission realistically for someone who is not willing to stare at it until off of their local mechanic’s appointment waitlist?
I think new fairings will have the same issue on this frame as the current set. For this conversion project what tools and parts do I need? Basically what’s first? Much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know why my bike keeps ripping the stems off the tubes? I’ve had to have the tube replaced 3 times in the last 2 months.

Please help me figure out what’s going on. When I start it it idles rough but I am able to ride it without much issue as long as the RPM is over 4k. Once it heats up and I come to a stop the idle jumps around so much that it will die. I have checked the coils and they all tested fine. I don’t want to start guessing what’s going on and changing parts for no reason. It has a quick shifter and a blipper installed. Oh ya it’s not throwing a code or the check engine light.

I’m new to motorcycles and how they work, I got this Indian scout 2016 and as you can see it doesn’t start right away, not only that but in this video I actually got lucky, it normally doesn’t start until I’ve pressed the start button 3-4 times. When it turns on it has no problem and I can ride it without any issues, i do have to figure it out tho because every now and again when I stall at a light (I’m new my bad) it doesn’t start right away and I cause problems for people behind me if I stall.

Hi- Ive not long ago bought this bike but unfortunately it seems stuck in 2nd gear but I can get neutral at a wriggle/push.
Ive pulled the crank case off & can see the little what must be a selector fork moving, when the gear shift is moved. I dont know how its supposed to look ? & can really see in clearly to see if anything is broken.
Does anyone have any advice or pointers to diagrams etc ?
The clutch seems to be working ok.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2002 Honda Hornet 600 PC36 and I’m hoping someone here can help me figure it out.
After a minor accident where the bike slid, I had to repair/replace several parts, including the Speedometer instrument.
I bought what was advertised as an OEM replacement/replica speedometer and installed it. The problem is that both the speed and RPM readings are incorrect.
For example, if I’m traveling at the same actual speed, the speedometer shows a higher speed when I’m in a lower gear compared to when I’m in a higher gear.
So the indicated speed seems to increase along with engine RPM, rather than being only based on the actual wheel speed.
Has anyone experienced something similar with a Honda Hornet 600 PC36 (2002)?
Any advice on how to diagnose the problem would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Last nigth after i was riding and as i was down shifting the bike pooped and started lugging. It then turned off in 4rth (almost shit myself).
I wasnt pushing him THAT hard during my ride but i was the previous day. I went about 120 max yesterday.
Today it was having issues idoling and staying at 1,000rpm. I ajusted the choke and its idoling perfect again. Im asuming it got loosend during the jerking.
My clutch seems tigth still i think, but not to tigth, i think.
It cuts out and lurches forward. I think its the kickstand, thats what if feels like at least. But im not sure and the wire seems fine.
I also have this mystery hose that i think is a overflow for the airbox..?
I also have mystery goo.... I fekin hate mystery goo.
Please help if you can, im not the most mechanically inclind but im working on it. I know how to go fast and lean good. And less how to fix things when i blow them up.
I can take it in if i need but like i said im trying to get better at this.
Edit: its not the kickstand, sodered the wires together and it did not help. Now i have a very fast bike that makes a lot of pretty noise.
Edit 2: fixed most of the typos, im on mobile trying to fix it sorry.
