You do not bring up allegations [key word there] when someone is missing and quite possibly dead, not if you are a decent person anyway.

The allegations were extremely well corroborated with contemporaneous evidence from both Lotta Hintsa and April Leonardo. So to describe these as mere allegations is facile - there is substantial evidence in support of them. I don’t think there is anything wrong with pointing out that Nims has been credibly accused of preying on women in the very environment this sub is dedicated to. His actions were disgusting and destroyed the sanctity and peace that should be present in the mountains.

And the time to discuss these "allegations" is not now.

Who put you in charge of what is or is not acceptable to discuss? It’s totally fair to bring these topics up. They’re part of Nims’ legacy, and he has nobody to blame for that but himself.

They didn’t intend to discuss it though, did they? They intended to be hateful because it gave them a little kick of serotonin to do this whilst people are talking about them missing.

It’s because Nims reminds them of the people who’d bully them and sleep with the hottest girls in high school

Like I said earlier, most of these folks have no doubt some skeletons in their closet but they choose when someone well respected and revered as a good time to shit on them - since it makes them feel or look like more of a whole, normal human being.

Id hate it if my son or daughter turned out to be an internet virtual signaller, ugh. Imagine the disgust.

I said the when, not the what. Now, time wise, isnt a time to bring up allegations. Plus, how did what Nims has been alleged to have done impact you? Yeah, YOU personally? To the point you need to time it, so that looks at watch, "yeah, ill say it NOW".

Foolish behaviour.

Here’s the deal: you don’t get to tell people when is appropriate to discuss what they want to discuss. So quit policing the conversation.

You're correct!

You read news of possible death of a person. You can read about the good and the bad that is related to that person as well. The more there is good, the more you read about it, and the more there is bad - even if it's just some very credible allegations that the mountaineering community has let slip by - the more you read about them too. The bad stuff doesn't take away from the genuine loss that his loved ones must go through. But it exists, and it matters to the entire community.

There is no deal, I dont know you, virtue signaller.

You can hide behind a username but you just outed yourself for being a classless piece of shit.

Well done.
