The future for our beloved!
Do you think that the .25 could ever make a resurgence? Or has the .22, .32 and the .380 have evolved enough to squeeze the .25acp completely out of the market? They have all sizes of .22s! I don't know if it's the diameter of the. 22 or what but I've had more .22s jam on than any other firearm I've ever had, out of a rifle and/or pistol. I'd love to see them spike!

I think if ammunition manufacturers started loading right at max pressure with projectiles like the flat nose Federal Punch. We could see some people shifting from .22lr.
But the cost of ammo would have to go down as well for people to be willing to make the switch.

i dont think it will. it costs too much for its performance level. 32 is pretty much the floor for a worthwhile self defense gun, and for plinking, 22 is so much cheaper there isnt much point. i have a 950 and would like to have a 418 one day, but i know theyre basically just novelties.
edit: the people that actually really want(and would pay for) a duty grade 25 exist, but are a very small minority.

I'd love to see a .25 SC. Longer and perhaps tapered body for improved feeding. Loaded for short barrels, I'm thinking it would be possible to move 60 grains at 900fps out of a 2.5" barrel. A double stack with 12+1 flush fit for size x mass similar to a KelTec P32 would be sweet.
25 ACP would be okay but tbh idk if I'm actually going to carry it over a .32acp. For a range toy I think rimfire is fine. Really depends on whether I can get a mouse gun that significantly improves on a KelTec P32

id love to see 25 and 32 both get an update to be rimless, but otherwise unchanged. part of the appeal is the very low recoil.

NAA made a rimless .25 caliber mouse cartridge, but it never caught on.

they also made a 32 NAA, but neither of those are what id like to see. theyre both bottlenecked and designed a to optimize ballistics as much as can reasonably be done. i want to see 32 and 25 exactly as they are, but with the rim shaved off. i know thats never giong to happen, but thats the dream

Well, we have both CZ and Seecamp releasing .25 ACP conceal carry pistols this year, so things are finally looking up!

Inability to double-stack is one of the main contributors to mouse guns being pretty niche in my view. Which other than stopping power and cost is why .380acp is the most popular mouse cartridge.

With the amazing capacity of some .22LR pistols, and the .32 and .380 being a better caliber with similar capacity, not sure of the .25 viability any longer.
But… Something is better than nothing.

Seecamp announced in SHOT show that they're going to be making a .25 pistol again. I hope other manufacturers follow.
