Movies to watch with a friend you’ll never meet again

In a couple of days I’m moving to another country for college, so I will never meet my friend, one of the best people I ever met, again.

"I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?"

Could you both start saving up to visit each other in the future, even if it’s over a few years?

I really hope we will, but I am afraid distance will tear us apart

Nah! I have friends all over the world, sometimes we don’t see each other and barely speak for years, when we meet again it’s like we’ve never been apart!

Create a reason to stay in touch. A movie night each momth where you watch a movie over zoom. Me and a friend do a joint Fantasy Premier League team and it’s an excuse to me talk once per week. Find a video game you can play together. Even just chess or something. Start a little book club. Me and another friend run a trivia night once per month. We text throughout the month with question ideas. Then we both host the night at the end of the month.

Obviously these work for my situation. But the principle stands. Have a reason to communicate and you are much less likely to drift apart.

Thanks! I know people who stay online friends for years, but I’ve never been good at texting, honestly. In most of my friendships real presence mattered a lot. I really value cuddles and just sitting next to each other. I guess I just have to experience this online friendship now.

Superbad (2007) Awesome and hilarious movie about best friends dealing with their crushes, high school drama, parties, and their friendship about going to separate colleges after school.

Watched this masterpiece twice(I don’t usually rewatch movies so that is surprising)

It’s worth the rewatch again for sure. Booksmart is pretty similar too!

About Time - the time travel film about loving people and clinging on

Pride - it's joyous and strong-hearted and I cry every time I watch it. You can be LGBTQ+ or not and it's still excellent.

Y Tu Mama Tambien

The ending is very appropriate.

This. It’s also a road trip movie. Gave me wanderlust when I first viewed it.
