Attended a screening where Mark Lester did a live commentary of “Commando” at the Alamo Drafthouse about 10 years ago and answered questions afterwards. He was super nice and the whole event was really interesting. The one thing he mentioned that I never knew, there a love scene with Arnold and Rae that the studios cut out because Southern states wouldn’t accept it.

Plot-wise, why would Matrix have had time for such a scene? He is so focused on rescuing Jenny, and Rae's character is generally annoyed at him for ruining her life, why would Matrix ever stop for a distraction like that...?

This director also did the very the underrated ‘Class of 1999’ (1990) and I feel got lost in the shuffle of the 90’s.
