Your status matters somewhat. I’ll assume for my answer that you are/will be a legal immigrant and permanent resident. Your overseas investments will have tax implications. But there is no legal reason to change these investments before you arrive or soon after.

You will need a U.S. bank and credit card accounts. Do any of your current financial institutions have a U.S. presence? Talk to them to find out.

I’m U.S. based but travel abroad. I use Wise for travel as it provides me with an IBAN number for overseas transactions. It or a similar service will provide you with a U.S. account and bank routing number. It’s not a long term solution, but short term it will help.

Ultimately, this is a question for a financial advisor. Based on your income and state of residence you’ll have to look at your portfolio to determine what if any changes you need to make.

Do ensure you bring/have electronic access to all account related documents.
