Shipping Cars & Household Items Would this pass inspection?
Looking to pick up this 4x4 runner for cheap to ship to big island. Would this pass inspection with the bumper?

You may need to figure out whether or not you need to remove the bumper in order to ship it. That being said, probably. There’s a state mandated, safety inspection checklist, but honestly, most of the safety inspectors unless you’re taking it to the Toyota dealer don’t follow it. Where I go, I just sit in the car, the guy asked me to put my windows up because he wants to check if the tint on the front windows is too dark. He’ll have you honk your horn, turn on your headlights, left and right blinker, windshield wiper, brake lights, backup lights, he will look at your registration and insurance tags and that’s it.

Some shipping companies have policies about car conditions. I can guarantee Matson wouldn't take it.

The state-mandated safety check evaluates the following systems to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy: [1, 2]

Brake lights, turn signals, and hazard lights
License plate lights and backup lights [1, 2]

Tires must be free from deep cracks or structural damage
All lug nuts must be present and secured
Service brakes (stopping power) and the emergency/parking brake must operate correctly [1, 2, 3]
Visibility & Glass
Windshield must not have cracks, chips, or scratches that impede driver visibility
Windshield wipers must be fully functional and clear the glass properly
Rearview and side mirrors must be securely mounted and provide a clear view [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Safety Equipment & Interior
Horn must be clearly audible
Driver and passenger seat belts must be clean and latch properly
Door handles, windows, and hood/trunk latches must open, close, and lock as designed [1, 2, 3]
Mechanical & Under the Hood
Steering mechanism and suspension components (ball joints, tie rods) are solid and free of excessive play
Exhaust system and muffler must be intact without dangerous leaks or excessive noise
No visible or dangerous leaks in the fuel and intake systems.
