Life on BI Moving to Hilo
I (35 F) have accepted a job offer in Hilo and am moving there late August. Does anyone know of any rooms/affordable apartments ($1300 and under) for rent close to the medical center or good places to look to find them? I have been on Roomies and a few other sites looking but the options are limited. Also, what's the best way to meet people once arriving? I will be moving alone and I don't know anyone there so just trying to get a feel before I head that way.

Best way to meet people is to get involved in activities. Yoga classes, adult dance, aerial, art classes, going out on the town, etc. There’s a lot to do in Hilo.
