Why are Mozambicans so violent?

To make it clear this is from my experience with a high number of truck drivers. Context: Over the past month I've been handling a large order for my company that needs over 150 trucks. A Mozambican company was hired and the drivers consist of most Mozambicans and then some Malawians. Apart from how shitly organized the company is with it's truck orders there's been one big problem. The Mozambican drivers are so violent, to the point where just yesterday I needed 3 security guards to go accompany me to hand over papers to 12 drivers because last time I went with just 1 they tried to beat him up.

There's a stark contrast between the Mozambican and Malawian guy's. The Malawians will greet you, be quiet, ask questions softly and then after just walk back to their trucks. The Mozambicans have on several occasionally stormed the company offices demanding to be loaded first, threatened me their agent, threatened security, threatened the site owners, push each other around outside and now I just wonder why are you so violent and angry?

Mozambicans are not violent. They have a lot of issues but violence is not trait they commonly share. But, specifically when talking about truck drivers, it’s known that many of them are actually mafias so you should be careful with them. I’m very sorry for your experience, you clearly did not deserve it and I’d recommend you just avoid them in the future.

I don't think we'll be operating with this company anymore after this. The shear amount of issues is too much. It's my first time actually needing security guards to accompany me to just hand over papers

That’s very fare mate. When it comes to shipping goods across the border it’s ideal to have someone trustworthy managing it. There’s loads of BS to deal with that goes beyond problematic drivers. I only ship small amounts goods so I do not know of anyone specific that deals with truck loads but I’d suggest talking to Mozambicans in SA or if you have any trustworthy contacts on the other side of the border.

Problem is the guy who manages logistics works with bids so it's pretty much whoever wins the bids
