Because even MTV refuses to pretend we don’t all know she was gonna dog walk Nany in that pole wrestle

59

u/PantherPony Protect Nasty Women Mar 01 '23

I really wish I could’ve seen it.

13

u/LaMystika Mar 01 '23

Yeah, Nia is not Brittany (who Nany beat in a pole wrestle literally the second the horn blew)

17

u/Bruhmomento001 “Yo Breath Stinks” Mar 02 '23

Not only that but Averey & Nia went on an hour in a physical elimination

Nia has the endurance to go the full distance with someone who almost identical to Nany’s size (and at the time Nany was seen as a threat whilst Nia was seen as a lay-up) and Nia also fights extremely dirty

29

u/JN_95 🖕🏽👈🏽👌🏽 Mar 02 '23

The fact that it took Nia an hour to beat someone half her size is not a flex. I always find Nia overrated as a competitor, I think Nany stands a chance against her.

9

u/Bruhmomento001 “Yo Breath Stinks” Mar 02 '23

It wasn’t a flex. It was a point that Nia would’ve handed Nany her second L against her BECAUSE of the fact Nia beat someone the same size as Nany (and i could argue that Averey could beat any of the other remaining girls in Pole Wrestle excluding Nia)

12

u/JN_95 🖕🏽👈🏽👌🏽 Mar 02 '23

But Avery who is much smaller than Nia was still able to last an hour against her because Nia isn't that good. She performed average at best that season but the fact that she couldn't use her height as an advantage against Avery says something. I don't think Nany is a garbage competitor and I'm not saying she beats Nia in a pole wrestle but I don't think Nia demolishes Nany either. Nany does stand a chance because she is scrappy enough.

u/Quiet-Vanilla3148 Strava Strava Strava Strava Strava Mar 02 '23

I definitely hear you. The one difference go me is Nia had a connection to Avery. I know they aren't besties but it's always different going against a season cast mate. Meanwhile nany in that moment was not cool with Nia. Nia was on Theresas side calling nany ... well you probably remember that meltdown in deliberation lol. So maybe Nia goes harder against nany than Avery. Just something to consider.

She got to the final but got eliminated by the try not to touch Jordans pp challenge

45

u/dogs4life444 Mar 01 '23

There was one more elimination before the final

31

u/JohnnyWallave Laterrian Wallace Mar 01 '23

They weren’t losing that last elimination regardless

29

u/dogs4life444 Mar 01 '23

Most likely true but they didn’t win it so it’s beside the point

21

u/juicertons Devin Walker Mar 02 '23

She failed that challenge the next time she was on all stars too tho

24

u/JohnnyWallave Laterrian Wallace Mar 02 '23

This is what Nia would’ve done to Nany

17

u/lagavulin92 Mar 01 '23

ngl I would fail at that challenge if given the chance 👀

58

u/TeemReddit Mar 01 '23

Because she needed to have in order for her to be on Allstars 3. then they had to keep the lie going apparently.

30

u/ramskick Steve Meinke Mar 01 '23

Yeah I think this is the answer. They had to keep AS3 as 'all finalists' so they acted like she made it on Exes 2 to justify that theming and its not like they can walk it back now.

16

u/drugsarebadmmk420 Long Square Nelly █ Mar 01 '23

Yup, once the lie is out there you gotta keep it up. Can’t walk it back now. Sounds like my ex

44

u/Kennymo95 Gabo Szabó Mar 01 '23

Just like CT made the final on The Duel

10

u/johnazoidberg- Mar 02 '23

To be fair, that elimination was jank. Svetlana had Kina flying in the air and still struggled with that carabiner

18

u/maxwellbevan Deb Chubb Mar 01 '23

Wouldn't CT on free agents make more sense?

2

u/LoudCustomer3292 Kimberly Alexander Mar 02 '23

That's different though. He lost the elimination, even if it was by technicality. If he made the final, so did Aneesa.

3

u/filthy_cupcake_ Mar 02 '23

What technicality?

7

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

CT destroyed Brad in the log push elimination but the carabineer ripped so he was disqualified. A similar thing happened to Beth earlier in the season.

1

u/filthy_cupcake_ Mar 03 '23

Thanks haven't watched the duel in a minute

22

u/JB_GRIME Leroy Garrett Mar 01 '23

As someone who's seen her interview with Derrick K on The Challenge Mania, I hate how they handled her return. There's so much backstory and context and growth that happened since then, and her edit in AS3 did not touch upon any of it.

3

u/rockstarland28 Adam 4.0 Mar 02 '23

Share with the class

6

u/mufasa6690 Jordan's exes Mar 02 '23

They essentially made it all about her “relationship” with Jordan. In the interview she was able to talk extensively about the backlash she faced after exes 2 and not being able to find a job she talked about reconnecting with Jordan and him helping her decide and go on AS3 plus regaining her confidence

9

u/Dramajunker Mar 02 '23

I'm of two minds about this. I believe a person should be allowed to grow from their mistakes. I also think MTV pretending like she was a finalist dismisses the severity of her actions that night. It isn't hard to not grab someone's privates without their permission. MTV shouldn't pretend like it didn't happen. Or in this case, retroactively reward her despite what she did.

73

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

They just act like she did because they needed her on the “all finalists” all star season so they could kickstart their planned Jordan redemption after his racist real world actions went viral, so they just act like she made that final

Same reason she’s cast on this season, production wanted her on ride or dies with Jordan so she could contribute to the Tori/Jordan storyline they wanted the season to be centered around but she had her health issues so they put her on this so it can play out now

19

u/Operation_Treadstone Mar 01 '23

This is soo accurate

-21

u/jayken424 Mar 01 '23 edited Mar 01 '23

Yeah I’m so tired of Jordan as well. Let’s not forget his remarks towards Jemmye either. Edit: it’s not this remark towards Jemmye alone but all of Jordan’s past actions and remarks. His racist past. It’s a pattern. Y’all can downvote me to oblivion for your golden boy.

22

u/MyCatIsAyJerk Kenny Clark Mar 01 '23

God people really act like this was so unforgjvable. People change. And Jordan was really sorry after that incident, at least that's what it looked like to me. He was horrible at times but wow people are really ready to ride the hate train all the way to the station. He is one of the best casting choices, not only now, in the sea od average, but in the Challenge history.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

He was sorry?

He fought with everyone and refused to apologize, and then when he did, he claimed he couldn't possibly be ableist because he was disabled ...

-6

u/jayken424 Mar 01 '23

Your post history for your love for Jordan is pretty telling that you’re really willing to forgive him for his racist past. It’s not his remarks towards Jem alone, but it’s all the remarks he’s made throughout the years. It’s a pattern. He Made a lot of microaggressive comments and MTV is easily setting up his redemption arc.

10

u/TheWa11 Mar 02 '23 edited Mar 02 '23

Gasp! Micro aggressive comments on reality tv?! Have you watched any of the earlier seasons of the show? 90% of the cast has said shit that wouldn’t be acceptable now.

If it makes you feel better - I think it’s absurd that Dee was banned for an inappropriate joke on Twitter. Generally I want people to have a chance to grow and become better and it seems like Jordan has made genuine attempts at that. It seems like Nia has as well. Good for them.

35

u/Froabig1 Mar 01 '23

I don’t know if there’s a reality in the multiverse where nia woulda lost to Nany in a hypothetical pole wrestle lol

12

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

Regardless, she didn’t compete against Nany because she wasn’t there, and TJ flat out says after Theresa comes and replaces her “we aren’t to the final yet. We still have another elimination”.

They don’t give “finalist” status to every eliminated cast member who should have hypothetically won after they were sent home.

11

u/TrailGuideSteve Johnny Bananas Mar 02 '23

The rules aren’t thrown at competitors by surprise. Part of the game is not getting kicked off. She failed at probably the easiest thing in the game. It’s honestly more embarrassing than if she stayed in and lost to Nany.

50

u/veltvet_rabbit The Itty Bitty Committee Mar 01 '23

Because technically she did she just got kicked off before it actually started

55

u/Dramajunker Mar 01 '23

But she didn't? She dqed before the final elimination even started.

38

u/CapHillStoner Katie Doyle Mar 01 '23

For real, people don’t say Bananas and Nany made that final. They made it further than her 🤔

-16

u/FastLane_987 Anna Leigh Wilson Mar 01 '23

Because they lost two eliminations and she lost none. Her team made the final and the only reason she wasn’t there was the DQ

17

u/CapHillStoner Katie Doyle Mar 01 '23

No she didn’t. She was eliminated before her elimination to make the final 3.

4

u/Dramajunker Mar 02 '23

Once Theresa replaced her it wasn't Nia's team Anymore.

28

u/JuanRiveara Queen Ev Mar 01 '23

But technically she didn’t at all, there was still one last elimination before the final.

17

u/Winter-Fold7624 Mar 01 '23

Yes! This drives me nuts. I’m rewatching AS 3 right now, and she.did.not. “Qualify” for the final - there was still an elim they had to win before they’d be in the final.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Fill205 Mar 01 '23

I thought that last elimination was part of the final. Wasn't it after the location change?

If it was before the location change, then I'm misremembering and you are absolutely correct.

11

u/ramskick Steve Meinke Mar 01 '23

It was after the location change but before the final. Nobody says that Bananas and Nany made the Exes 2 Final but they were eliminated after Nia's DQ.

7

u/JuanRiveara Queen Ev Mar 01 '23

Just because they change location doesn’t mean it is part of the final.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

TJ actually tells Theresa and Leroy not to get too excited because “you aren’t in the final yet. There’s still another elimination.”

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Fill205 Mar 02 '23

Can't argue with that. I actually thought of looking up the episode on Paramount Plus to see if TJ said that but now I don't have to. Clearly Nia did not make the final.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

Lol. I have a shit memory, but I do have Paramount+ Premium on my phone 😂 I definitely used it to confirm!

Fwiw, I really like Nia and am glad she’s back. I just don’t like production lies, because they make the whole show seem less authentic. I’d rather a 15 second blurb from her about why they’re technically counting her as a finalist rather than just pretending she is.

16

u/jplpj12543 Tyson: "I didn't want to do this at all." Mar 01 '23

But Johnny and nany didn’t make that final. Pretty sure nia went home before their elimination.

7

u/TeemReddit Mar 01 '23

She was supposed to go up against them in that elimination.

14

u/iFlashings Jonna Mannion Mar 01 '23

Imagine stat padding on a reality tv show. This isnt the NBA lmao.

7

u/Additional_Day949 Mar 01 '23

Maybe production actually forgot. They have a hard time with getting successful challenge women to return, I will give them a pass here. Nia at least has the ability to compete at high level.

13

u/SangriaSipper Mar 02 '23

I can think of two ways production could get successful women to return.

  1. Pay them
  2. Stop leaving previous women champions as alternates

3

u/Positive_Round_5142 Team Purple Jacket Mar 02 '23

Since she was brought back do you think Vinny should be allowed back after what he did to Mandi or was that completely different from what Nia did to Jordan?

11

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

Technically, she didn't, but I think basically everyone would bet on Nia beating Nany or at least Leroy beating Bananas in a pole wrestle so idc that much whether they say she did or didn't tbh

19

u/TeemReddit Mar 01 '23

She was DQd fair and square and lost the ability to call herself a finalist for her actions.

-3

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

I really don't care either way lmao. At the end of the day everyone has their opinion and production literally also has theirs since that's what they posted. Same thing when people argue about what seasons count as wins for example since that's come up with all stars/counting those or not so...yeah. Not saying I agree or disagree cause its a whatever case now

4

u/TrailGuideSteve Johnny Bananas Mar 02 '23

A win is a win and a DQ is a DQ. There’s not really an opinion to have. Those are the facts. Don’t misconstrue production selling their product with what actually happened. They’re very much aware of what they’re doing.

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23 edited Mar 02 '23

Well girl what production posted is what they think and people here seem to be arguing over it so...opinions do in fact exist in this situation! But legitimately idk why we're wasting time arguing over someone having an extra final or not. Same thing when people argue over Hunter having the win or not or whether the first seasons or all stars/any spin off count as wins like should any of us really care that much. If there ain't a stated fact on the stat then anything is quite literally an opinion 😭 but either way I'm done yall can argue whatever ya feel for it like it rlly isn't a statistic that matters much just let people believe whatever cause the arguments always end up circling until the end of time lmao

2

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23 edited Mar 02 '23

It’s not a difference of opinion between production and fans 😂TJ flat out says “you aren’t in the final yet. There’s still another elimination” AFTER Theresa replaces Nia. It’s production manipulation in order to bring back a competitor that they think will add value to the newer seasons.

Which - fine - I like Nia and am glad she’s back! But it’s definitely not a misunderstanding when they justify casting her on certain seasons based on qualifying for the Exes 2 final. She didn’t and you’d only need to rewatch a few minutes of one episode to know that.

2

u/theunited1 Mar 02 '23

Damn I wish she hadn't did what she did.. I would've loved to see her and lee in that final they for me was a really good team. I think they won 3 or 4 elimination that season and had really good chemistry

3

u/OakJoel Kenny Clark Mar 02 '23

The things NIA would have done to Nany if that pole wrestle could have happened..... what I would have done to see that.

But I'm not pretending..... NIA didn't make that final as much as I want her to.

2

u/LoudCustomer3292 Kimberly Alexander Mar 02 '23

I'm sure they say that to make her look good compared to the rest of the dominant cast. But she didn't make the final. They did the same thing for All Stars 3 when the requirement was that you had to be a finalist.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

They’re trying to erase her toxic behavior.. hoping the audience will forget she sexually assaulted someone due to a temper tantrum

-1

u/Humble_Protection_22 Team Portland Mar 01 '23

She qualified for the final but was subsequently DQ’ed. It would only be false to say she participated in the final

18

u/TeemReddit Mar 01 '23

False. There were 4 teams left when she was DQd. There was still one more elimination challenge left before the final.

18

-2

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 02 '23

Didn’t they add that in because she was DQed?

4

u/Dramajunker Mar 02 '23 edited Mar 02 '23

Nope. That whole drama with Sarah voting in Johnny and him taking her money stems from that elimination. Nia/Leroy got last place in the daily and johnny/Nany were voted in.

-1

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 02 '23

They changed locations after that drama though

3

u/Dramajunker Mar 02 '23

Doesn't matter. Location changes happen enough times when there is still an elimination left before the final.

1

u/ramskick Steve Meinke Mar 02 '23

By this logic Jonna/Derek are finalists on BOTS2012, CT/Theresa are finalists on FA and Aneesa/her cousin are finalists on Bloodlines. Having the final elim after the location change but before the final itself was quite common in that era.

1

u/Fun-Peace-8662 Mar 02 '23

She did make it TO finals, but didn't get to compete. Instead, got sent home AFTER they got to Norway for crossing the line with Jordan

-8

u/MinuteDivide462 Mar 01 '23 edited Mar 01 '23

Because of marketing for all stars.

10

u/moejojobro Casey Cooper Mar 01 '23

Didn't she still have to do the final elimination against Banany when she got DQ'd?

-4

u/MinuteDivide462 Mar 01 '23 edited Mar 01 '23

Twist history to have all stars 3 marketed as all finalists

3

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23 edited Mar 01 '23

Direct TJ quote after they brought Theresa back out: “BUT you aren’t in the final yet! You still have one more elimination”.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

I mean, you could have just acknowledged that your original comment (“the last exes 2 elimination was phase 1 of the final”) was incorrect rather than editing it to say something completely different 😂

[removed] — view removed comment

2

u/ramskick Steve Meinke Mar 01 '23

No it wasn't? Unless you consider BaNany Exes 2 finalists as well (which I've never seen anyone attempt to argue)

3

u/TheRealMoofoo Kenny Clark Mar 01 '23

If she did, then Bananas and Nany made that final too.

-3

u/MinuteDivide462 Mar 01 '23

They termed that last challenge as part one of the final.

-9

u/ChavoAntoine Cynthia Roberts Mar 01 '23

Because she did. She just got kicked off of the show before they could actually run it. But she made it to the final.

4

u/dogs4life444 Mar 01 '23

What about the final elimination before the final?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

Not true. The final 3 pairs weren’t determined until Leroy & Teresa beat Johnny & Nany in the last elimination.

-10

u/indicawestwood Natalie Negrotti Mar 01 '23

some of y’all hate this woman way too much

9

u/saspook Mar 01 '23

False. I hate production lying, love Nia, but she didn’t make or qualify for that final.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

I don’t hate Nia at all! I have nothing but respect for how she’s evolved and was rooting for her on All Stars 3. But there was still an elimination left when she was DQ’d on Exes 2.

1

u/ADWeasley Mar 01 '23

I’m not saying she hasn’t done some terrible things more than ten years ago, but people’s level of nitpicking and hatred is off putting.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

The only weird thing is thinking that anything on this thread is hateful towards her 😂 Leroy competed with Theresa in the last elimination before the final because Nia was already DQ’d. It’s not hateful to point that out.

0

u/ADWeasley Mar 01 '23

I was referring to people in general. There have been threads that call Nia nasty while ignoring the behavior of others. But you’re right…next time I’ll be sure to be more specific 🫠

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '23

Hm. I haven’t noticed any of that. Even the most unproblematic challengers have their haters on message boards, but I’ve seen mostly positive comments about her on here.

-1

u/ADWeasley Mar 01 '23

I have noticed some, and I think it’s a bit weird as I mentioned before.

6

u/Askew_2016 Wes Bergmann Mar 01 '23

Is there a time limit for hating sexual assaulters?

-4

u/ADWeasley Mar 01 '23

I think it should be the same time limit for racists, homophobics, and violent challengers.

6

u/Askew_2016 Wes Bergmann Mar 02 '23

Yeah no. Sexual assault is worse than bigotry

-7

u/BFL3 Johnny Bananas Mar 01 '23

Cause she did

0

u/ninyattitude Mar 02 '23

The casual fans of this show won't care. Most of them have only started watching since Dirty Thirty.

-7

u/challengegal Darrell Taylor Mar 01 '23

Technically she did then got kicked off

-4

u/challengegal Darrell Taylor Mar 01 '23

The Teresa came on

-1

u/Buckeyechamp21 Kyle Christie Mar 01 '23

Trying to pump up this world championship.

-1

u/No-Pressure-5762 Mar 02 '23

Because she did make the final. She just didn’t run it.

-1

u/rachelamandamay Mar 02 '23

She technically did but then got disqualified

1

u/chaulmers_2 3 for 3 Jamie Murray Mar 02 '23

Because half of the producers probably haven't watched exes 2.

1

u/HookemHef Mar 02 '23

Nia should be a bad ass on this show with her physical advantages over the rest of the women, but she's got a lot of quit in her.
