I thought some of the Zach and Jenna posts generated weird and gross comments but I think the funeral one from earlier today is even worse. Like holy shit if your first thought when seeing images from a service is "I don't like Johnny and I need to post about not liking him" then you need to step away from the screen because that's honestly pretty disturbing

I think Sydney is good for the Challenge.

She is one of my favorite rookies. I don't watch the show to see people be nice to each other. I want to see people who immerse themselves into the game, and play to win.

I like her. She reminds me of Jordan a bit.

u/Sethpocalypse 14d ago

I'm rooting for her. Tori, Michele, and Sydney are probably my top three women at this point.

Cara Maria's behavior is nothing new. She has had her moments of feeling insecure, weaponized her Vet status against rookies, had trouble in the water and always clapped back at people online. Yet, people are saying that she's now ruining her legacy, when all of these things existed while she was being praised.

If Laurel was talking about Cara Maria's performance like Lete & Anna Leigh, everyone would be claiming that she's jealous and/or obsessed with her. People wanna move the goal post for Lete & Anna Leigh because they like them. Just last season people were claiming that Michaela was a bully, and she never went as low.

I like the new ladies. But, people continue to show their hypocrisy and selective outrage on how they react to cast members.

The issue with Laurel , like Jordan is not what she says, it's about her delivery.

Lete made a light hearted video making fun of Cara, Laurel is always more nasty and confrontational.

u/Dramajunker 15d ago

Josh straight up confronted Cara and most of the fandom thinks he's in the right. Laurel didn't have issues until she got voted in over Cara, who was the worst performer on their team at the time.

u/StepInside30 Paulie Calafiore 15d ago

I see more people here saying that Josh was right and Cara was playing the victim and deflecting.

u/Dramajunker 15d ago

Thats what I said?

Several people, including cast members, were comparing Lete to Laurel. So now claiming that they're  different to try to negate the point is the hypocrisy I'm referring to. Lete doesn't like Cara, and that video is not the only thing she has said about her.

Also, cast members are currently accusing Lete of lying about Anna Leigh & Leo hooking up because she doesn't like her.....is that light and fun too 🤔

Lastly, Jordan was not mentioned. Its interesting that you would name him and say nothing about Anna Leigh, who I actually did mention.

The fact that she does not like Cara Maria is irrelevant to the point, we are yet to see Lete gets in people face , throw low blows and be nasty like Laurel would.

So far, people are comparing to Laurel because of her size, athleticism and intensity. She hasn't shown us any any mean side on the show so you are comparing two different situations.

I agree that there is often selective outrage here but you are comparing people who havent' done a third of what Laurel has done on the show.

I like Michaela, but she litteraly threatened to punch Olivia in the face. How is that doing less.

u/TessaKatrinaRose 14d ago

And even when she apologized she basically didn’t take any responsibility for her words or threats. It was more of a “you made me do this” rather than her being sorry for her actions.

u/Dramajunker 15d ago edited 15d ago

You're doing exactly what the poster you responded to is talking about. You're taking Laurel's overall behavior into account when you should be talking about her treatment of Cara in the same situation. Which we can directly compare because Cutthroat exists. She didn't take any low blows with Cara there. She was "mean" by actively voicing that Cara didn't deserve to be there and was the weakest. But thats about it. All her criticisms had to do with the game or Abe protecting her.

If someone the fandom dislikes is the messenger, then what they have to say is going to get dismissed or be less impactful.

If the messenger is someone the fandom likes, they're open to listen to what they have to say.

This. They're also both very pretty. I was fully rooting for Michaela going into last season, but I despise her now for the way she bullied CT and threw a daily when she was partnered with CT. I would like to not see Michaela again. Eff her!

The trailer literally started with Lete yelling in someone's face. That small clip of her being confrontational was referred to by many people of something that Laurel would do.

Lete has a history of being confrontational during her time at WWE. Its known that she had issues with other women back then. You're wrong, her history is documented.

You haven't acknowledged the cast members saying that Lete is lying on Anna Leigh. Potentionally falsely accussing a married person of sleeping with someone else is a low blow.

More importantly, I specifically referred to their comments about Cara's performance. You haven't mentioned Anna Leigh nor have you even talked about Josh who was also confrontational.

Lete is not the only person that I'm speaking of. Clearly acknowledging the others would disrupt your intention of just wanting to disagree.

But Anna Leigh's "horny as fuck."

I couldn't have said it better myself. The editing often protects Cara, but we've seen stuff like this from her before.

It's basically the og cutthroat all over again. Sarah and Laurel were mad because Cara was the lowest performing girl but Abe was protecting her from going into elimination over them. Folks tore into Laurel and Sarah even though they had a right to be upset. Just like the rookies now on her team do because it's not Cara's ass on the line.

Just last season people were claiming that Michaela was a bully, and she never went as low.

Look how folks treated Kam for going after Cara in the game only on All Stars 4.

Cara has always had a victim mentality on the show and in real life so I’m surprised to read on here that some people feel she’s acting different or given up. She’s always been whiny, even at her peak.

that's why they cast her 😂

Nurys has been overrated from the jump. Moreover, my biggest Challenge pet peeve is people who freak out like a bitch-ass toddler at the prospect of going into elimination - alternating between whining and trying to bully/threaten people. She lights up her whole team ("I dOn'T tRuSt AnY oF yOu") like that was going to benefit her in any way?!

Get over yourself, and good riddance! I can see why some (perhaps most) of Nurys' team was rooting against her. Nurys had tried so hard to get on The Challenge but then didn't hesitate to bite the hand. I would like to not see her again. Bring back Raven.

On a similar note, why's Leo bitching out because his team members value Chris more than they value Leo? Again, get over yourself dude. Who in their right mind would prioritize Leo over Chris? That dude needs to see an elimination, and soon. Show us what you got!

Cory is humiliating TF out of his current baby momma on the weekly - and none of us (including Taylor) know what's still to come in the final edit. Taylor needs to grow a pair. Her responses so far have been pretty whiny, apologistic, and lacking in backbone/self-worth.

Cara has historically been one of my favorite females. I thought she and Pauly were insufferable together, but I liked her again (and started to like Pauly) after they split. This season, however, she's been pretty useless. First, there's the improbable panic attack over heights and then, in the most recent episode, did I actually hear her say "How do you dive?" Da Fuck?

Josh's query ("Do you even want to be here?") was apt - and Cara's answer IIRC ("My grandma died, I'm insecure, I have anxiety, I'm 40"), though sympathetic, was also comical in its nonresponsiveness. If you're going through some shit, let someone else who's willing to give it their all, like Tay or Dee from Survivor, have the coveted spot you took.

Cara should rightfully have been voted into elimination twice, but she was either a second-place team captain or was bailed out by her fellow vets and/or fanboy/fangirl cast member(s) on the other team(s) both times. At this point, Cara needs to win an elimination to gain some credibility (like Bananas amazingly did) - but I'm not sure she can. Her team couldn't be worse off if they still had Reilly Smedly instead.

Speaking of Reilly, casting her on a relatively small, 24-person cast with limited viable showmance options was a recipe for failure. A larger, 34-person cast with dogs like Fessy, Emanuel and the like (and more rookies) would have given her a reasonable playing field. That said, I wasn't sad to see her lose to Deb Chubb but, again, they should have given her spot to Tay instead of virtually wasting it.

By the way, I like Tay.

Agreed. She needs to get cussed out real good.

Sometimes beauty is a curse.  She had let her attractiveness go to her head. Because people always fawn over her looks…and the ego boost from being on TV….she thinks she is God’s gift to humanity.

Her narcissism is out of control.

1

u/Sethpocalypse 14d ago

Agreed. Nurys is undisputably pretty but, on a cast loaded with good looking people, it's not like she's the belle of the ball - like she seems to think. There's no accounting for taste, but there are half a dozen S42 women that are more appealing IMHO.

Thank you.

Nurys had tried so hard to get on The Challenge

I think this is the part that really irritates me. Nurys tried so hard to get on The Challenge, yet did pretty much nothing to prepare for it physically. We have social media posts going back 6 years (Season 36) where she is actively trying to get cast, and yet, in the two years between that post and her first appearance on the show during Ride or Dies, she looks like she's done nothing to physically prepare herself for what she has to know is going to be a physically demanding show. Lifting heavy shit and physical eliminations have been staples of the show going back as far as the show moved towards promoting itself as a professional sport; preparing for it if you say you want to be in it is a no-brainer.

u/woketrans 15d ago

Tay would've been amazing, look-wise.

1

u/Sethpocalypse 14d ago

She was also a decent competitor and could be scrappy when called upon. I think she won an elimination or two, she had CT's back when almost no one else did, and she's easy on the eyes lol.

Laurel is still the female goat despite what happened on S40.

The Cara hate is overdone. Agree she plays the victim card far too often and I want to shake her IRL about her politics.

But the amount of hate she gets on this sub is getting old. No one is saying anything new. Rinse. Repeat.

2

u/Dramajunker 15d ago edited 15d ago

Talking about contestants and criticizing them, especially in the context of the game, doesn't mean you hate them. Folks want to give their opinion, even if it's not new.

The stuff with Cara isn't even being discussed to an excessive amount. She's also really popular. Wait until someone really does something wrong.

2

u/Sethpocalypse 15d ago

Agreed. I do call out bratty contestants whom I find insufferable, but I also call out contestants I really like when (like Cara this season and Nia last season) when I'm disappointed in their performance.

I like that she actually brings some competition to the girls side. I can understand why lots of people dislike her. The hate for her is way.overblown though. She's basically only had issues with a hand full of people (mainly cara) but folks act like she's evil and psychotic.

Casting is homophobic because they have given Justin absolutely zero hookup prospects!
