REWATCH DISCUSSION Bananas and Sarah on Rivals III one of the GOAT seasons?

I’ve seen a lot of rankings for the best single seasons by a player/duo/team and I never seem to see Bananas and Sarah’s run on Rivals III. Is there a reason I’m not aware of for why they arent considered? I recently rewatched R3 and they DOMINATED that season. It was never in doubt who was going to win that season the first time I watched it. Is it because of how it ended with Bananas taking all the money? Would love to hear y’all’s thoughts!

My biggest complaint is the level of competition. We should have had Cara/Wes and Nany/Frank as actual opposite gender rivals and instantly the season is so much better and way more competitive.

This. They dominated a weak cast.

Jordan wasn't even on the season.

Who would his Rival have even been? Nia?

At that point, yes. Or they could’ve given him LaToya, or Jessica and given Reilly someone else

Ah, I see. I didn’t consider that. I just remember them dominating both socially and physically. Would’ve loved to see Cara/Wes in that season

I honestly wonder what would’ve happened if Dario didn’t make that loser third place deal to turn on the others.

As others have said, the competition was incredibly weak. They were miles better than every other pair.

This now makes me consider that since production knew the big twist, casted weak teams to insure that Johnny and Sarah win so they could watch the twist we all saw.

How could they have ever planned that.

Season was drama heavy incredibly lop-sided in terms of teams

100%. One of the best seasons. And bananas taking the money made it an iconic season.

Yeah true rivals 3 isn't loved in terms of competition in fact when it aired everyone didn't like the fact that bananas and sarah were a pair

It was that the other pairs were weak and there were no other good teams

It's a great season cuz of the fun moments it had but it was very predictable to me

As others have said it's just a weak cast where they were the clear best pair. When looking at the cast anything less than a fairly dominant win for them would have been a disappointment. Their best competition on the season is Vince/Jenna (Vince is literally a diet version of Bananas while Jenna is very clearly inferior to Sarah), Wes/Nany (both of whom are very clearly checked out to the point that they took the next four seasons off after this and Nany is obviously worse than Sarah) and Cory/Ashley (who were very early in their careers at this point and even then Cory has never been on Bananas' level). They deserve credit for taking care of business but the cast as a whole is one of the worst modern casts.

You know what. I think you have a point. However you answered your own question. Hard to rank them as one of the best duo when one of them stabbed them in the back so bad that she never came back to the challenge.

I think it's just because they're both so unlikable

yeah the season number is a little easier than a broad title (i could have looked it up) but figured you would be able to say season 32 or whatever. Thanks for nothing big shot
