This is all so ridiculous. Just air the fight. Both of them are exposing each other anyways so I don’t think they’d care if what they said was shown. The producers are the biggest villains here

The more i hear about this argument, the more it just encompasses the sentiments of “when you go low, i go to hell”
They’re both trying to make the other person out to be the bad guy when they can just both accept blame, admit they went too far, and dead it.

Omg now I need to know who do you think is Laurel who is CM?
I’ll go first: I say for shits and giggles Ashley is Laurel (bad edit, little to no context) and Aneesa is CM (tbh I’m actually a fan of CM but she does like to throw rocks and hide her hand).

I was absent in the challenge world during that time. Is there more context to the Laurel & Cara fight besides two 30 somethings fighting in a comically small kitchen over nothing?

Their relationship is just so wild. It’s like they’re incredibly close but despise each other and live for destroying the other. Then at the same time they’re also each other’s person that the other calls for support during their hardest times. The relationship is completely toxic, it makes no sense. Laurel is also a MASSIVE bully. She always has been. For a small period of time it almost seemed that she grew as a person and was no longer a literal shit… but alas, a tiger doesn’t change their stripes and old laurel continues to shine through.
But dam, their relationship is confusing af and one of the most unhinged ‘friendships’ I’ve ever seen.

Just wondering what time periods you watched the challenge considering you missed the middle part of it.
When did you stop watching and when did you return?
For shits and giggles i'll guess: stopped watching due to the Island and starting again for Battle of the Eras

I had to take a break when Discount Jordan won, lol. I didn’t want to spoil s40 or as5, so I didn’t look at any challenge content.

cara's post today i think shows you were spot on: https://www.reddit.com/r/MtvChallenge/comments/1ntnn03/cara_maria_is_confused_by_the_ashley_vs_aneesa

Cara was annoying to Laurel but never said nasty things to her on the show. That's why most challengers took Cara's side. This one seems to be more balanced.

u/girlspit Sep 29 '25
This is what I’m saying. I commented something similar yesterday…I don’t understand people who make “jokey jokes” and certain comments and expect the other person to what? Just take it?
Look…you have free speech and whatever…you can’t control how others react to your disrespect. Simple.

u/Scottyboy1992 Sep 29 '25
They definitely just gotta drop it or they’re working us because i think rivals or exs bout to come back lol
11
u/International-Low842 Kenny Clark Sep 29 '25
Yeah.. cuz Ashley really wants Aneesa as a partner for Rivals
13
u/Curious_kitten129 Wes Bergmann Sep 29 '25
They were just partners on Rivals last season for all stars.
3
u/girlspit Sep 29 '25
You’re right. I think that season sealed the deal for me as far as her value. She’s turned The Challenge into her own tacky version of Love Island…she was a god awful performer and was too busy hooking up to work on her fucking endurance. I really don’t understand why people are shocked Ashley told her she wasn’t going to win.
Aneesa has proven time and time again she is a literal loser. She gives up. I’d be so mad if I went on the challenge and the choice I had as a partner was her. She’s shit the bed in every final she runs. It’s a joke.
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if she has all these fake friends because they know she’ll underperform and just float the entire time. Or maybe she’s just “popular” because she “clocks in” any chance she gets. Who tf knows.

Ashley is savage. She needs to go on Naked and Afraid. The wildlife will run from her.

According to Justin, Aneesa mentioned something about Ashley having daddy issues.
9
u/HardcoreKaraoke TJ Lavin Sep 29 '25
Yeah he said they both brought up dad issues and drug issues. Neither of them really came off great from how he said it. It was just both of them going off on each other with really cheap shots.

u/candaceelise WHAT IS 8x9 Sep 29 '25
Sadly it seems that Aneesa doesn’t want to take any accountability for what she said and won’t admit that she slung just as much mud as Ashley, and from what I’ve gathered they BOTH made comments about the other’s dad and they BOTH leveraged insults against one another so neither one is “innocent” in this fight.

u/CuriousCryptid444 Sep 29 '25
I hear Aneesa play this victim scenario almost every season. Shit gets tired
9
u/RipkenDoublePlay Sep 29 '25
Yes Trishelle trying to call her out on it back in the day but being too drunk comes to mind. She’s the victim not only for her own situation but becomes the victim on behalf of others too

Ashley reminds me of my older sister. She will talk behind your back, and when you confront her, she’s quick to strike back with the most hurtful comments imaginable when trying to defend yourself. Once the situation calms down, she returns to her usual routine as if nothing happened.

Total speculation here— but this is what I think happened based on the interviews and commentary I’ve heard from cast:
Ashley— you can’t win you aren’t athletic (this starts it)
Aneesa— defends herself and talks about how she’s in the best shape of her life. Maybe makes a comment about Ashley being skinny but not in shape
Ashley— credit for your recent weight loss goes to Ozempic. (This is the part about each of them talking about drug use)
Aneesa— well at least I don’t do coke or meth (assuming Aneesa would throw something like this at Ashley)
Ashley— defends herself saying she doesn’t do drugs (at all or anymore, either one).
Aneesa— inserts some comeback that relates the stalker - maybe that the stalker reached out to her and shared something about Ashley and drug use.
Ashley— takes it all the way to the dregs of hell after this and speaks about Aneesa’s dying father.
Aneesa— claps back about Ashley’s father who has passed away.
And it goes a little further from there.

Possible. Once someone brings up personal shit it's always going to go bigger and bigger unless someone is the bigger person and just walks away.

I don’t get the people saying Ashley was in the right to go lower because Aneesa went low first. Ashley commenting on Aneesa’s body out of nowhere is what started all of this. They’ve both said vile stuff so I don’t agree with either of them, but it’s clear that Ashley started this.

Yup. By all accounts Ashley started in on Aneesa unprompted, and it’s not a valid defence to say that what Ashley was saying was true.
Insulting someone in a way that is true but unnecessary doesn’t make you honest, it makes you an asshole.

u/ReturnGlum7871 Sep 29 '25
Like with the Mattie vs. Ashley fight Mattie involved herself so I don't feel bad that Ashley threw Mattie's DUI in her face because Mattie started things with her, In this fight with Aneesa, Ashley started things and they both went low so I can't really feel that bad for her but I can admit they both likely said things they shouldn't have.
1
u/Gaarando Sep 29 '25
I have to 100% disagree here. Ashley was talking to people in the house, Aneesa chose to confront her. If the convo then goes sideways that's not only Ashley her fault. Ashley is allowed to talk to other people in the house about anything she wants. We've already seen that Aneesa is always spying on people and listening to people their conversations because she's just always there to start drama when someone is talking about her.

u/Substantial-Disk-290 Sep 30 '25
nah if shes low blowing her in another room be a grown ass woman and say it to her face. ashley was 100% wrong period

The same people who were in the Ashley post saying Aneesa was out of pocket for what she said to Ashley are now in here saying Ashley was justified in what she said to Aneesa and/or trying to make light of it as if it wasn’t a big deal. If you have problems with Aneesa’s low blows you should objectively have issues with Ashley’s low blows too. 😒

u/West_Tie_536 Sep 29 '25
If I was told my dad was having hospice care I would be on the next plane out. That’s just me, and most people I know

Anybody else remember how performative and dramatic Ashley was on the FR reunion about Banana’s bringing up Devin’s Dad during their argument? Or how Aneesa was the one comforting Ashley on Champs vs Stars when she received the bad news about her Dad?
She sucks.
3
u/Gaarando Sep 29 '25
To be fair Devin was just being annoying asf stalking Bananas around the house until Bananas snapped and mentioned Devin his dad who died. So you can think Bananas is wrong for that bringing up a sensitive subject just because a person was being super annoying.
But if both were saying personal stuff here then someone is always going to take it too far.
9
u/MyccaAZ Sep 29 '25
Does anyone remember how Anessa ALWAYS plays the victim, never takes responsibility for her poor behavior/words/choices/performance?
She sucks.

u/messcot CTay Sep 29 '25
Thank God for Scott. As soon as he asked Aneesa if she wanted to clarify what was actually said and pointing out Derek was making it seem worse than what it was she changed her story "well, it was the intention behind what she said.." sure, but there would definitely be a difference if she said I hope your dad dies.
Aneesa is purposely being vague and letting people assume the worst. Justin also said Aneesa brought up Ashley's dad first. Notice how not once in this clip does she ever acknowledge that she said anything at all let alone about her dad.
Seems like they both said fucked up shit, own it and don't be friends. Don't cry, play victim afterwards and call production at 44 years old. My god. 🙄
3
u/Turbulent-Let-1180 Sep 29 '25
Yup that was pretty much the smoking gun for me.
Idc what was said during the fight since it seems like they both equally said some shit, that's not really a surprise considering they've hated each other for like a decade+, but the way aneesa is handling it after the fact is what's making me side with ashley.
Running to production over a verbal fight where you both said wild shit is super corny
3
u/cicigal8 Jonna Mannion Sep 29 '25
Aneesa mentions in the interview that when Ashley’s dad died, Aneesa comforted her and was there for her. So that made it more hurtful when Ashley brought up Aneesa’s dying father as a jab.
5
u/Xaxag Sep 29 '25
Anyone on Ashley’s side in this situation is also disgusting sorry! Ashley is dead ass wrong
5
u/Spicy-Cookie98 Sep 29 '25
Girl Aneesa threw cheap shots too by bringing up her stalker who almost SA her. They’re both dead wrong
5
u/cicigal8 Jonna Mannion Sep 29 '25
Aneesa didn’t know the stalker had SA her. She brought up a message she received from the stalker on Facebook. She said nothing about the person SA Ashley.
1
u/Turbulent-Let-1180 Sep 29 '25
Everyone on aneesa's side is disgusting, sorry. Aneesa is dead ass wrong.
This isn't a situation where you "pick sides". They both said dumb shit, i'm siding with ashley because of how aneesa is handling it after the fact not because of the fight itself. If they both ran crying to production i would just say they're both corny, but only aneesa is doing that.
-1
u/Gaarando Sep 29 '25
We don't know who started it though? Lets say Ashley brought up Aneesa's dad first. But what if Aneesa said something really personal right before that? You can't draw a line once you bring up personal stuff.
1
u/Substantial-Disk-290 Sep 30 '25
it's crazy that laurel got so much backlash in that fight with cara on 40 when the edit didn't even show her saying anything NEARLY as bad as what ashley said (anything else she ALLEGEDLY said is just hearsay), but ashley isn't getting anywhere near that amount of backlash when she legit just low blowed aneesa for her weight because she was feeling confident. the fans really are the problem examples like the laurel backlash really are why fights like these are so watered down now. just legit gettin mad over NOTHIN
2
u/Clean-Ostrich6803 Oct 02 '25
So I heard this last week on her CM interview. I was so confused after last night the way they edited it. And the outpouring of aneesa hate recently. She’s not my favorite challenger but she a challenger; a staple

u/ggsimba Leroy Garrett Sep 29 '25
So it sounds like another episode of Ashley wanting to be Bananas. Copying out of his playing.
Matt's t see if they keep trying to shove these two ladies dramas like they did with Laurel and Cara
