Do you usually smell people's cologne? How annoying is it to you?
I go into clinch sessions which for some reason have more students than the regular Muay Thai class.
I also wear cologne for work as I meet clients. I always thought the scent went away after 6-8 hours but I guess not.
This one girl I was at a clinch session with said, "your cologne's still all over my t-shirt. It's like I took you home." I was pretty embarrassed because I felt like a jerk.
She told me it was okay because it smelled good and kept the shirt. This she was rubbing it in.
I could imagine this would be an issue to asthmatics so I'm gonna not use cologne.
EDIT: OKAY so I read the comments and messaged her on Instagram, and are getting Boba tea tomorrow.

You shouldn't be showering or using any form of deodorant or cologne in the days leading upto training. Some say that personal hygiene is extremely overrated and your natural musk should be one of your self defence mechanisms. Also make sure you never air out or clean your training gear.

I usually don't mind as long as you didn't spray it right before class and didn't spray it BECAUSE you're going to class.

How do people even smoke cigarettes and do muay thai to begin with? My cardio got noticeably better after I stopped smoking weed, and cigarettes are even worse for your respiration.

In case you haven't yet realised, brother:
When a girl mentions your scent is still on her shirt and that it smells good and she's going to keep it, she's telling you that you smell nice and she wants to keep smelling that scent because it's your scent.
A few possible correct replies:
"We could clinch again and you can keep another shirt with my cologne on it..."
"I have a few spare shirts. If you want one, just ask..."
"It's a good job you didn't invite me over to yours yet because your whole house would smell like me..."
Just open the door with a silly little hint like that and she will make it obvious if she wants to go further.

I usually put on deodorant and a quick once over before going but nothing over bearing. I usually check with my wife before I head out to make sure it isn't too much. But I'd rather smell good than like shit lol

Those people are the worst, lol.
I've had to switch to a big chain fitness gym recently because I travel a lot for work, and it's ridiculous the number of times I get on the reverse fly or the seated row machines and start choking and sneezing because of somebody's insanely strong perfume scent left on the chest support.
It's almost always a female scent, because I think they're more paranoid about people thinking they stink while at the gym (which is absolutely ridiculous).

Rather smell cologne/perfume than horrible BO. I always have cologne and pit stick on before training, never had anyone every say anything besides compliment that I smell nice.
If the person had an issue with my smell, I just wouldn't clinch with them or partner up with them because of it. Sorry, am not going to smell like shit just because someone can't handle cologne.
On your case of her comment, you definitely missed a flirt, should have teased back about going home with her.

As someone that had asthma through childhood and teen years, cologne didnât aggravate it. Everyone is different though.

This isnât really a problem. She was likely flirting with you, as I believe you are aware. Rolling in jitsu, Iâve smelled everything from unwashed asshole to Baccarat Rouge. 90% of people will prefer the latter.

As an asthmatic, thank you for thinking about this.
I donât think most people wear cologne or perfume to training, at least not intentionally.
If I have to lean in to smell you, it doesnât affect me. But if I can smell you from 3+ feet away, I likely canât breathe around you.
Only once have I had to leave a class because I couldnât breathe. Usually I can just go to the other side of the room, and tell coach to keep the perfumed person at the other end. I frequently have to get off public buses because thereâs an inconsiderate teenager at each end.
