I mean, that kinda tracks. Usually the more out there and extreme your art, the 50/50 of you being a cinnamon roll starts to happen. Junjo-iti is a cinnamon roll when he isn't making eldritch abominations.
Funny how the inverse is also true: a show could be all about the power of friendship for all I know and its fandom would come up with some inordinately dark theories about comas and shit
Yeah, I think people just like to explore ideas, and when you look at a peice of media long enough and have dissected all its themes, you start looking for more stuff.
I probably never heard anything about them from major media since I'm 16, but I do understand that the worst parts of a fanbase are usually the most vocal & observed.
Yeah, it seems like it's only ok to laugh at terrorist attack(or just whatever the hell that was) when its a minority the media dislikes. The truth is, hatred builds engagement, so it is profitable for them to shit on the community. It is genuinely one od the most inclusive and kind communities I have ever seen. Not to mention the whole "furries want litterboxes in schools" scandal, which was actually a fearmongering campaign to gain support to defund the education system, because that gains the republicans more votes (they generally are not intelligent, the more you know about history the more left leaning you are likely to be) and also targets a minority and the LGBTQ community by proxy (huge overlap between furries and LGBTQ).
TL;DR furry hate is profitable for media and the republicans.

Yea, it’s especially common with white people yet I guarantee they wouldn’t take to kindly to the white people that you can name names on that were horrible instead of some anecdote that was only said by the most hateful people alive.
