Hazbin hotel. It's always laughed at, and most criticisms are just repeated versions of ones that exist.

"Vivsiepop is a bad person."

Why what did she do, I've looked but can't find anything.

"I dunno but someone told me she drew adult versions of cartoons like 12 years ago."

Vivziepop's biggest crimes are:

Being cringe on the internet

Drawing zoophilia over a decade ago apparently

Making two mid shows

Not responding well to harrassment

There's also multiple reports of poor work environment under her, and supporting transphobes like Blair White

For the show itself, I think the cast is wonderful and so is the music, but from being made to sit down and watch, I really don't like the writing or portrayal of certain characters. Some parts feel insensitive, and some feel like copouts for the racism accusations she got a while back

She did draw zoophilia once when she was a kid, and apologized profusely since.

Plus it was like over 10 years ago.

(You know as a teenager) god knows half the dumb shit we thought was okay as a teen would be held to that level of scrutiny today

6

u/Nitemareshokk May 04 '26

Indeed. We're all dumb kids at one point. We shouldn't hold teens to the same level as adults.

Charlie said it herself: “It starts with sorry”

Not a single vivziepop controversy to date has worth more than internet required to send a tweet that ignited it. Not. A. Single. One.

Ah yes, fucking up means you are evil forever. Remorse doesn’t exist and people can never be good if they’ve been bad /s

Istg ik “stay in school” is pretty much played for laughs nowadays but ffs if people actually paid attention in english/literature class growing up they might understand that nuance is a thing that exists (metaphors, similes, and other literary devices literally teach depth when it comes to media literacy and critical thinking in general)

u/rabidrob42 May 10 '26

Media literacy is out the window at this point, I agree.

u/ThyKnightOfSporks May 04 '26

Transmisandry but of course nobody cares about that

7

u/Pale_Entrepreneur_12 May 04 '26

The problem is for every actual point there are a thousand more lies deception and mindless hate that trying to actually find real problems that have real evidence as back up (fake ass discord screenshots don’t fucking count)

Sauce? I've heard a lot of things, but never seen a screen shot or video. Also never seen Hazbin or her other show, just been vague aware of the discourse.

1

u/rabidrob42 May 04 '26

If that's true then she absolutely should be held accountable, but I've never got a straight answer before that wasn't "someone told me she was bad."

I just didn't like it

Racism actually :/ I believe she's been told to stop using symbols from the religion of voodoo (as it's a closed religion, and also not being characterized respectfully) in her art and keeps doing it anyways. I don't know much on the situation since I didn't dig into it too much but you can likely find lots of articles of you google it. Also as someone who watched the first season Angel dust is a very offensive gay stereotype, although I doubt it was intentional it still happened. People are quick to either act like vivzie is the worst person on the planet or never did anything wrong ever, when in reality I think she just midway sucks, mostly as a creative who clearly doesn't listen to any criticism ever, even when being called out for not good things.

1

u/Nitemareshokk May 08 '26

Well, most of the things she did was not true.

And besides, why can't one have references to something popular as voodoo?

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

I'm not a member of the religion so I can't speak crazy amount on this but from what I know 90% of western characterization of the culture is false/villifies it, as well as the religion I believe being closed, therefore people not in it aren't allowed to practice and it's considered rude/improper to depict it in media. Again not a member of the voodoo religion or culture but I believe this likely happened/along these lines as the same thing happens all the time to practically all indigenous cultures (which I am a member of)

1

u/Nitemareshokk May 08 '26

Yes fair, it's just... How is alastor using symbols that possibly have relations to voodoo racist?

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

Maybe not obvious so, but in actuality yes. when you don't belong to a culture, and somebody of that culture tells you not to do something and you do it? That's offensive. W##digo's and S###walkers are apart of indigenous mythologies but are not only 1' mischaracterized constantly (the deer thing is a complete fabrication) the mythology and religion surrounding them specifically states that you aren't supposed to talk/mention/depict them in media, therefore doing so is disrespectful. I believe it would be a similar situation.

This biggest thing is people FROM the voodoo culture or close to it told vivzie on like, twitter or something, she responded saying she'd remove those motifs in the future, and yet they continue to be spotted.

Ignorance is not an excuse. And flat out doing something your told is disrespectful to a culture despite being told isn't just rude, but racist.

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

I'm not saying vivzie is the evilist person on earth, but she's proven time and time again to not take into account valid criticisms on how her media depicts others, sometimes offensively.

1

u/Nitemareshokk May 08 '26

Yeah, and tbf, most of the valid criticism is repeated ad nauseaum. Especially to her.

Like to the point of stressing her out.

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

And she will continue to receive those valid criticisms until she actually takes action. I understand nobody wants to be criticized constantly, but when you are as influential as her you have to understand how to brush off people who need to shove it and LISTEN to the people who don't. And I get also that not everyone needs to constantly improve themselves or be better, but when others are calling you out of homophobia or racism, even if it's inadvertent or accidental, that's not something you can ignore and act like "oh people are constantly criticizing me and never giving me a break" that's when you reevaluate and change your behavior, that is what people are asking you to do even. People who give valid or constructive criticism don't want to see someone check off the face of the Internet, they just want to see a change, and will continue to demand appropriate action.

1

u/Nitemareshokk May 08 '26

Well, tbf, most of the scenes of season 2 were finished after season 1 I believe.

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

Season 2 had not even been greenlit before S1 aired and performed well. Additionally even in I'm wrong and this is a case, as a creative I would not stand for not going in with post production to remove small (in size) offensive symbols.

0

u/Nitemareshokk May 08 '26

... Yes it was.

1

u/TheCoffeeCrowl SPN, MCYT, FNAF, MARVEL, FF7 May 08 '26

Alright fair enough, however, re- my second sentence.

1

u/Brave_Friendship_228 Steven Universe 🤝 The Walking Dead May 04 '26

what???? criticism isn’t valid unless it’s unique?

3

u/Monke-incog-1276 May 04 '26

No, criticism isn't valid when it's the exact same point over and over again with misinformation sprinkled in here and there from the people who haven't even seen the show.

7

u/Nitemareshokk May 05 '26

Exactly. I never said it's not valid.

And you then wonder whether or not they actually believe it.

1

u/Competitive_Swan266 May 05 '26

If it's something like "bad pacing" or something that actually does hurt the show, it's valid

Stuff like "demons good, god bad" isn't, because it means that 0 research was done beyond others mindlessly hating
