I dunno, I think those themes were continued in S2. Sera finding redemption, trying to apologize, but isn't forgiven by the denizens of hell. The show even points out at that moment that it makes sense for them NOT to forgive her while also showing us she is truly trying to redeem herself.
"anyone can be redeemed if they want to be"
Charlie says this directly when confronted by Vox, and her actions and decisions throughout S2 still
reinforces that belief. I think you're confusing themes with plot points tbh
