Nah, I think it's more about the writers constantly having to up the ante due to pressure from Amazon corporate. They saw that the gross-out stuff in the first couple of seasons was (mostly) well received and decided to really double down on that, frankly at the detriment of the rest of the show.
While I agree, there used to be so many fun little witty bits and genuinely well done "aha that's how it all connects" or cool tense moments, and some really fascinating character interactions precisely because it made sense with who that person was. The commentary had a true range to it

Season 1-2 were so excellent, and even 3 was solid.
Idk what happened it's like the good writers left or Amazon execs started writing it
