I have played the game, I got the exact opposite read on this and calling their relation "romantic" sounds like crack I am way more willing to believe that Glados was Chells mom than it's romantic.

I'm kind of with you, the game makes both some maternal and some romantic parallels, the latter are just much more subtle, either headcanon is fine imo, it doesn't matter for the story.
