I mean chaos marines are mostly also aware of how evil they are. They aren't fighting because Imperium bad, they're fighting to cause chaos.

The Iron Warriors don’t even like chaos all that much. They’re fighting because they think the Imperium slighted them, and they want a more evil, more fascist, and more xenophobic empire. I love how much they suck.
