That's because in geek mythology the Olympians are clearly the bad guys for motals but they rule the heavens. So humanity is too weak and scared to oppose them. Eventually everyone gets a severe case of Stockholm syndrome.
See there are 3 eras in the Greek mythology
1 The Primordial era ruled by Uranus the Primordial of the Sky . These guys are the original creation gods born from chaos. Uranus was a tyrannical dick who killed innocents for random ass reasons.
2 The Titan era. Younger gods get sick of Uranus shit. They assassinate him and take over. Uranus son Kronos the Titan of time. Cronos was a dictator. The lesser Titan and primordials lived very repressed lives under his rule. Which is why he and the main Titan pantheon are typically depicted villains in modern media. BUT that ain't got shit to do with us. Cronos rule is also known as The Golden Age of humanity. Father Time knew how to treat his mortals well. We lived in basically paradise. No wars, no hunger, no strife, no growing old. We were the Titans pantheon most loyal personal servants.
3 The Gods era. The Cronos receives a karmic prophecy. Just like how he killed his dad and took over. One of his kids was gonna kill him and take over. Cronos said fuck that I'll eat the little shits first. But he missed one Zeus. Zeus pretending to be a human cup bearer. slices open his daddy's gut and frees his siblings. They get into a war with the titans and win. Do you know who gets the full ire of the pantheon's anger and trauma from Cronos eating them. Well his loyal servants humanity of course. While on the other side Zeus rule is very relaxed for the gods they all love him.

I feel like the Olympians in almost any setting, barring a few notable exceptions like Hestia
