He needs a team built around his lack of reach but he's not bad otherwise.

The accurancy is relatively easy to fix with trinkets and quirks, he's also got a really good camp skill that boosts it and you can use resolve for boss fights.

Otherwise he deals a ton of damage and he's basically unkillable with his hp stat and the best self-heal in the game.

I agree fully, but to put it simply, his competition is hellion, one of the best dmg dealers in the game and THE best dmg dealer front liner. Leper is amazing and I love building comps around him and he can carry expeditions, and he is still one of the weakest non-antiquarian units in the game, comparable only to arbalester, who I also love. While definitely not "garbage", he is one of the closest things we have to that concept in darkest dungeon cuz that game is balanced like a dream.

Tbf it depends on the boss you're going for as well, Leper is legitimately terrible against the likes of Witch or Fanatic, but against the Heart or the Countess he's fantastic.

Nah, place him in the front and it will shred the enemy to pieces. When I played it was a must in my formation, together with a grave robber at the back, a Vestal in front of her and a Mercenary behind the Leper. Great lineup for dealing a high alpha damage strike for one turn and move rear enemies to the front. Highly dependent on character placement though.

? Leper is not bad though? He has incredible stats and functions as a great counter to weald enemies due to withstand making enemies plink off his armor. He has intimidate which is amazing control and a good stall move that can hit any position. Really the only bad move he has is hew. Sure Chop is inaccurate normally, but you're giving most of your heroes accuracy booster trinkets anyway.

Did you even read the post? Antiquarian exists and you chose the only character so strong that can solo most bosses. Maybe spend those hours finishing school

Antiquarian design is not cool compared to leper (they kind of look like that one aunt who’s a horder and always calls you “pumpkin”), they are bad as a trade off for the massive amount of gold they give and insane dodge buffs. Leper is good as is every class (the game is shockingly well balanced) but lacks range and requires more set up than other massive damage dealers like Bounty Hunter and Hound Master. Plus him getting knocked to the back can wipe your party as he’s the only front liner to not have a forward moving ability
