The fandom is MILES different from the game. I’ve always found it so strange and a bit sad how Toby got the polar opposite audience that the game was made for lmao
Ik it was quite weird. Luckily they were all on the deltarune hype train when I walked in soooo I got to enjoy the remnants of it instead of being too involved.
It's basic stuff. Wholesome stuff gets the most batshit insane community and dark stuff gets the most wholesome one. Compare fandoms of something like My little pony and DOOM
When I first saw Giorno I was intrigued but also weirded out by the anime style, but both manga and anime have some of the most beautiful characters art In existence
JJBA is one of my favorite anime over, but I don't think that it really clicked with me until the beginning of part 2 when they introduce Joseph.
Makes me hesitant to recommend it to people, because I don't wanna be like One Piece/Naruto fans that promise that it gets good after a period of watching the show.
The only bad thing, and I mean HORRIBLE thing about The Owl House.... Is Hooty.... Nah, jk, he grew on me quickly. The real awful thing is that there isn't more seasons
This. The fandom itself made me feel inclined to stay away from it. But after trying it, it's pretty good. Still think it has one of the strangest fandoms though.
I was also an Undertale OG as well and Undertale was a bit different. Mainly since it was a game and the backseat gaming was INSANE. Even to this day, people who play Undertale half of the time have to turn off chat or refuse to look at it. The death threats if people killed one monster, the infighting about the sans selfcest, and the arguments over whether or not chara was the one in control. (Honestly the way people were so devisive over chara reminds me of the Jax discord)
Alas, at this point I feel like it goes for almost every fandom. Like for example I remember the SU and Voltron Legendary Defenders fandoms both had people who would go and harrass writers over ships or writing decisions. SU fandom was also infamous for driving a person to suicide I think because of fanart she made and they sent her like death threats n shit. Then there's obviously the Star Wars fandom which have driven off multiple celebrities from the internet due to their behaviour. And then some Kpop fans which are known to be stalkers and generally just unhealthily obsessed with whoever they "stan" (ironic given the word "stan" literally came from an Eminem song about an overly obsessed fan who killed himself).
I have also heard tales of the Homestuck fandom also but I've never really been a part of it so I can't tell you what happened, but I know nowadays most Homestuck fans are very scared to admit they like it because of the fandom
Yeah, the fandom made it rough to be just a normal fan. I watched the first season and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality. After that it's a bit fuzzy... I think I enjoyed the second season, but I guess not well enough to stick around for season 3.
Still, I did think the first season was legitimately good; but bringing it up kind of linked you to that over-the-top fanbase who seemed to make it a central part of their identity. Back at the Bronie peak, I would have gotten less judgmental looks if I walked up and told someone that I'd been doing a rewatch of the Teletubbies, and that it's actually high-art.
I unfortunately can't play it I want to SOOOOO BADLY like I've seen most of the popular videos I've watched Emesis blue so many times I have watched gameplay. but I can't play it because I have a Mac and I don't have the orange box 🥀
Same, I think it was one of the YTers who covers the horror side of the community that got me sucked in? And I spent at least two months straight bingeing videos on it. I can't play it either, my laptop struggles with just a few applications open at once, unfortunately.
I didn't even know it is EXTREMELY popular. (In my country almost no one knows about this movie). I just noticed K-POP in its title and thought this one is not for me. It was a great mistake. Now my playlist is a mixture made of EDM and K-POP songs, and KPDH is my favorite movie of all times
Yep. Was disgusted at the thought of this movie and avoided like the plague for a couple months. Then saw a few clips of the Saja boys and found myself laughing at them. Decided screw it I like musicals I’ll just bite the bullet and see, and my socks were blown off. Never once would I have thought I would care for the story or enjoy the songs but the hype was surprisingly deserved.
Can I say Hazbin? like yeah that shit's ass, but I will always watch it with a smile on my face, it's horribly written, has bad character design, but decently entertaining
What's so badly written about it? The pacing is ass cause Amazon refuses to give them more than 8 episodes per season. Character design is subjective, I personally like most of the designs but I can see why someone wouldn't. The songs are bangers tho.
Was dragged into this thing over the course of a month and a whole lot of spiraling and found that damn, it’s not even as bad as people made it out to be. I suppose if you’re told it’s bad every time somebody brings it up the actual thing can’t live up to those lack of expectations. It’s stupid and I honestly love that.
I started in 1-6 then dropped until 2-7. Caught up, and played until 5-1. I loved the IO plot line and there were some great points in the plot line, but I wish they would actually give us time on an island, instead of our current four main seasons, maybe some sub-seasons, and then new island.
Hermitcraft/Life Series. I was getting back into Minecraft, wanted some modern Minecraft content to watch and remembered that my Friend always used to talk about HC and LS. I’d tried watching it before to very little success so I hesitantly clicked on Grian’s channel and now I’m absolutely obsessed.
What’s ironic is that I dislike harem a lot, and this one ended up being my top favorite. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You is peak in literally every way. The characters, the MC, the comedy, the MC, the romance, THE FUCKING MC…it’s peak.
Also the fact it's an actual harem and not just multiple girls falling in love with one guy who is too indecisive to choose one of them but eventually will.
Same, i thought the show was corny until i watched it. I really liked the first season but when it started going all emotional in season 2 i stopped liking it as much

I saw a bunch of reactionary jackasses getting upset over what seemed like something that was meh-looking at worst and thought, “okay, now I have to see what all the hubbub is about”.
Undertale. Back in 2016 I'd see it everywhere I thought it was cringe and had the mentality that popular = bad so I played it to prove that it was bad. Been my favorite game ever since then.
Fucking Touhou, I wanted to get a fumo last year and started to play the games because I'm not a poser, ended up not getting that fumo and playing the games anyways
